A triple-phase-shift (TPS) modulation strategy with reduced transformer's voltage stress is proposed in this paper for the diode-clamped full-bridge (FB) three-level isolated DC/DC converter. The proposed strategy can keep the transformer's maximum voltage changes (ΔV) at only half of the input voltage (V
 in
/2) by employing three phase-shift delays. Consequently, comparing with the conventional strategies, the merits of the proposed strategy include: 1) reducing the voltage change rate (dv/dt) on the transformer and 2) improving the transformer's voltage harmonics due to the merit of the multi-level voltage. Additionally, the proposed strategy has two operating modes with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) for fulfilling the wide input voltage range. Finally, the proposed strategy is verified by both simulation and experimental results.

Triple-Phase-Shift Modulation Strategy for Diode-clamped Full-Bridge Three-Level Isolated DC/DC Converter

As an important part of the high-frequency switching power supply, the control accuracy of the phase-shift full-bridge converter directly affects the efficiency of the switching power supply. To improve the stability and antidisturbance ability of phase-shift control systems, this article presents a dual closed-loop control system based on Self-Coupling PID (SC-PID) control and applies the SC-PID control strategy to the voltage control of the phase-shift full-bridge converter. To begin with, in response to the contradiction of traditional PID, SC-PID breaks the limitation of PID control by introducing a new control idea instead of weighted summation of each gain, which fundamentally solves the contradiction between overshoot and rapidity. Then, using the dimension attributes between gains to develop new tuning rules to solve the system load disturbance, output voltage deviation from the reference value, and other problems, the purpose is to ensure the stability of the output voltage and improve the control effect. At the same time, the stability of the whole control system is analyzed in the complex frequency domain. Finally, with the same main circuit and parameters, three types of controllers are built separately, and using MATLAB for simulation comparison, the simulation results show that the control system based on SC-PID has better steady-state accuracy, faster response, and better robustness, which proves the feasibility of the SC-PID control idea.

Research on a Self-Coupling PID Control Strategy for a ZVS Phase-Shift Full-Bridge Converter

The input capacitors' voltages are unbalanced under the conventional control strategy in a dual half-bridge cascaded three-level (TL) DC/DC converter, which would affect the high voltage stresses on the capacitors. This paper proposes a pulse-wide modulation (PWM) strategy with two working modes for the dual half-bridge cascaded TL DC/DC converter, which can realize the zero-voltage switching (ZVS). More significantly, a capacitor voltage balance control is proposed by alternating the two working modes of the proposed ZVS PWM strategy, which can eliminate the voltage unbalance on the four input capacitors. Therefore, the proposed control strategy can improve the converter's performances in: 1) reducing the switching losses and noises of the power switches; and 2) reducing the voltage stresses on the input capacitors. Finally, the simulation results are conducted to verify the proposed control strategy.

A zero-voltage switching control strategy for dual half-bridge cascaded three-level DC/DC converter with balanced capacitor voltages

In recent times, the use of flexible joint manipulators has become increasingly widespread and vital in various fields, especially for applications requiring flexibility, such as carrying out refueling, inspections, and maintenance tasks. nevertheless, most of these manipulators are under-actuated systems characterized by a nonlinear complex behavior. Moreover, some of them present dynamic coupling interactions. This fact complicates the control process significantly. The primary objective of this work's control aspect is to ensure precise tracking of the intended trajectory while keeping the link's deflection to a minimum. In this paper, two conventional Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are first designed for the Rotary Flexible Joint (RFJ) manipulator. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique is used to to offline tune the parameters of these controllers based on minimizing the Integral Time Absolute Square Error (ITASE). Similarly, Self-Coupling PD/PI(SC-PD/PI) controllers tuned using PSO are designed for the same system. A simulation-based comparative study of the performance and robustness of these two control techniques in presence and absence of external disturbance is conducted. The results show that the SC-PD/PI control techniques performs better than the conventional PD/PI since it achieved less overshoot, faster response, and more robustness to external disturbance.

This paper proposes a triple-phase-shift (TPS) control strategy for the full-bridge three-level (FBTL) DC/DC converter to reduce the voltage stress and harmonics on the transformer. The proposed control strategy is composed of three phase-shift delays to keep the maximum voltage changes $(\mathbf{\Delta} \mathbf{V})$ on the transformer's primary side at only half of the input voltage $(\boldsymbol{V}_{in}/2)$ , which is different from the conventional control strategies causing the higher voltage changes with value of ${V}_{{i}\boldsymbol{n}}$ . Therefore, the proposed control strategy can effectively reduce the voltage change rate $(\boldsymbol{d}\boldsymbol{v}/\boldsymbol{d}\boldsymbol{t})$ and voltage harmonics on the transformer due to the benefits of multi-level voltage produced by the three phase-shift delays. Additionally, the proposed TPS control strategy has two working modes, which can thus have wide voltage gain. Finally, the experimental results are presented to verify the proposed control strategy.

Zero-Voltage Switching PWM Strategy Based Capacitor Current-Balancing Control for Half-Bridge Three-Level DC/DC Converter

Ground-based time-variable gravimetry with high accuracy is an important approach in monitoring geodynamic processes. The uncertainty of instruments including scale factor (SF) and drift rate are the primary factors affect the quality of observation data. Differing from the conventional gravity adjustment procedure, this study adopted the modified Bayesian gravity adjustment (MBGA) method, which accounts for the nonlinear drift rate, and where the SF is considered as one of the hyperparameters estimated using Akaike’s Bayesian information criterion. Based on the terrestrial time-variable gravity datasets (2018–2020) from the southeastern Tibetan Plateau, errors caused by nonlinear drift rate and SF were processed quantitatively through analysis of the gravity difference (GD) residuals and the mutual difference of the GD. Additionally, cross validation from absolute gravity (AG) values was also applied. Results suggest that: (1) the drift rate of relavive instruments show nonlinear characteristics, and owing to their different spring features, the drift rate of CG-5 is much larger than that of LCR-G gravimeters; (2) the average bias between the original and optimized SF of the CG-5 gravimeters is approximately 169 ppm, while that of the LCR-G is no more than 63 ppm; (3) comparison of the differences in gravity values (GV) suggests that the uncertainty caused by the nonlinear drift rate is smaller than that attributable to SF. Overall, the novel approach adopted in this study was found effective in removing errors, and shown to be adaptive and robust for large-scale hybrid surface gravity campaign which providing high accuracy gravity data for the geoscience research.
