Over the last decade, nanotechnology has emerged as a game-changing field, with transition metal nanoparticles, notably those consisting of CaFe2O4, standing out as a key component. These nanoparticles have gotten a lot of interest because of their great potential in a variety of biological applications. Scientists all around the world are working hard to create new calcium-based nanoparticles in a variety of forms and sizes to improve their functioning. While there is a substantial corpus of research on CaFe2O4 nanoparticles, there is a significant void in comprehensive reviews that properly elucidate their current advances and future applications in biological sciences. This review study attempts to give in-depth insights into the most recent advances in CaFe2O4 nanoparticle research, with a particular emphasis on electrochemical, environmental, and biological nanotechnology. The research digs into the finer points of the most recent breakthroughs in the synthesis of CaFe2O4 nanoparticles, with a focus on enhancing their imaging capability. Their applications in electrochemical processes, photocatalysis, sensing technologies, and mechanical functionalities receive special attention. The paper highlights the superparamagnetic response of CaFe2O4 nanoparticles to room-temperature oscillating magnetic fields, which opens up new possibilities for investigation. The study not only elucidates the potential benefits of using these nanoparticles but also addresses the limitations connected with their larger application. The magnetic properties of CaFe2O4 nanoparticles are given special attention, particularly in the context of data storage and magnetic sensors. Revolutionizing nanoscience: Exploring the multifaceted applications and cutting-edge advancements in spinel CaFe2O4 nanoparticles - A review

Abstract Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the common malignant tumors that seriously threaten women's health, and there is a lack of clinical prognostic predictors, while m5c and lncRNA have been shown to be predictive of multiple cancers, including OC. Therefore, our goal was to construct a risk model for OC based on m5c-related lncRNA.340 m5c-related lncRNA were identified and a novel risk model of OC ground on nine m5C-related lncRNA was constructed using LASSO-COX regression analysis. Kaplan–Meier analysis showed there was a significant difference in prognosis between risk groups. We established a nomogram which was a good predictor of overall survival. In addition, GSEA was enriched in multiple pathways and immune function analysis suggested that immune infiltration varies depending on the risk group. In vitro experiments show that AC005562.1, a key lncRNA of the risk model, is highly expressed in OC cells and promotes OC cell proliferation. Finally, we further explored the potential biological markers of m5c-related lncRNA in OC with WGCNA analysis and established a ceRNA network. In conclusion,we have developed a reliable m5c-related prediction model and performed systematic validation and exploration of various aspects. These results can be used for the assessment of OC prognosis and the discovery of novel biomarkers.

Identification and validation of m5c-related lncRNA risk model for ovarian cancer

Introduction: Liver cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world, and patients with liver cancer are often in the middle and late stages of cancer when they are diagnosed. Copper death is a newly discovered new cell death method. It is a copper-dependent and regulated cell death method. At the same time, Long noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) also play an important regulatory role in the pathological process of tumors such as liver cancer. Materials and methods: First, the expression levels of CuProtosis-related genes in liver cancer samples were extracted, and a CuProtosis- related LncRNA prognostic model was constructed. C-index curve and ROC curve were drawn by survival analysis, PFS analysis, and independent prognosis analysis. The model was also validated by clinical grouping and PCA principal component analysis. To ensure its accuracy, enrichment analysis, immune analysis and tumor mutational burden analysis further explored the potential function of this model, and finally discussed potential drugs targeting this model. Results: A prognostic model for predicting survival was constructed and its high predictive ability in liver cancer patients was validated. Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment showed that the differential genes were mainly enriched in 5 pathways. Meanwhile, six differentially expressed immune functions were found in the high-risk and low-risk groups. The survival rate of patients in the high mutation group was significantly lower than that of the patients with liver cancer in the low mutation group. Twelve drugs with significant differences in drug sensitivity between high- and low-risk groups were explored. Conclusions: The risk-prognosis model based on CuProtosis LncRNA established in this study is expected to be used to predict the prognosis and immunotherapy response of liver cancer patients. It provides new clues and methods for predicting the survival time of liver cancer patients, and also provides new ideas for guiding individualized immunotherapy strategies for liver cancer patients in the future.

Construction of a model for predicting the prognosis of liver cancer patients based on CuProtosis-related LncRNA

There is increasing evidence that dysregulated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is implicated in tumorigenesis and progression. We aim to explore the role of lncRNA MIR600HG in glycometabolism and cisplatin (DDP) resistance of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cells via regulating microRNA-125a-5p (miR-125a-5p) and RING finger 44 (RNF44). Expression of MIR600HG, miR-125a-5p, and RNF44 in OSCC clinical samples, cell lines, and DDP-resistant OSCC cells (SCC-9/DDP) was determined. In SCC-9 cells, proliferation, IC50 value of DDP, migration, invasion, and apoptosis were detected; in SCC-9/DDP cells, proliferation, IC50 value of DDP, apoptosis, glucose consumption, and production of lactic acid and ATP were evaluated. The interaction of MR600HG, miR-125a-5p, and RNF44 was verified. MIR600HG and RNF44 were upregulated while miR-125a-5p was downregulated in OSCC tissues and cell lines, and also in SCC-9/DDP cells. In SCC-9 cells, MIR600HG overexpression improved cell growth, metastasis, and inhibited cell susceptibility to DDP; in SCC-9/DDP cells, silencing of MIR600HG promoted apoptosis, improved DDP sensitivity, and inhibited cell glycolysis. Downregulation of miR-125a-5p showed the opposite effect to downregulation of MIR600HG. MIR600HG bound to miR-125a-5p and miR-125a-5p targeted RNF44. Downregulation of miR-125a-5p reversed the improvement of DDP sensitivity and the inhibition of cell glycolysis by downregulated MIR600HG on SCC-9/DDP cells. Downregulating RNF44 reversed the promotion of DDP resistance and cell glycolysis of SCC-9/DDP cells mediated by downregulation of miR-125a-5p. Collectively, our study addresses that MIR600HG downregulation elevates miR-125a-5p and reduces RNF44 expression, thereby improving DDP sensitivity and inhibiting glycolysis in DDP-resistant OSCC cells.

The roles of heteromorphic crystals and organic compounds in the formation of the submandibular stones

For the first time, cubic shape calcium ferrite (CaFe2O4) nanoparticles were used for drug delivery. Specifically, CaFe2O4 nanocubes with hydrophilic surface were synthesized by thermal decomposition and ligand exchange, and the surface was modified with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) for drug loading. Finally, doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) was loaded to the CaFe2O4/PVP composite. The DOX release from CaFe2O4/PVP/DOX was studied under various pH environments. The results indicated a lower pH could result in more DOX release due to enhanced DOX solubility in the more acidic environment. The cytotoxicity study showed that CaFe2O4/PVP had low toxicity to the cells, and the DOX released from the carriers could kill the tumor cells as effectively as the pure DOX, but has higher release selectivity at tumor sites. This research proposed a promising platform for delivering DOX to the tumor sites by pH-regulated drug release.
