In order to cope with climate change and implement low-carbon development, the energy structure cannot be separated from the production of clean energy. Rare earth elements are widely used in the fields of electronics, metallurgy, energy, and environmental protection due to their physical and chemical properties. On the one hand, the accumulation of electronic waste has a large impact on the environment due to the widespread use of rare earth devices. On the other hand, with the continuous mining of mineral resources, the amount of rare earth tailings is increasing, which is not in line with the development of sustainable circular economy. Therefore, the green recycling of REEs is of great importance to the environment and sustainable development. This paper assesses the low carbon and sustainability of the recovery of rare earth elements from secondary resources by hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical and bio-metallurgical processes in terms of socio-economic factors, including their advantages and disadvantages and how losses can be minimized. In addition, it provides a fuller exploration path and prospect for achieving green recycling and sustainable application of recycling in the future.

The current investigation focuses on developing multilayered AA7075/SiC functionally graded material (FGM) with high hardness and impact toughness. The FGM was fabricated using a hot compaction powder metallurgy process. Critical process parameters such as compaction pressure, temperature, and holding time were optimized using Taguchi's L9 orthogonal array coupled with grey relational analysis. Charpy impact and Vickers hardness tests were performed to measure the toughness and microhardness of the specimens, respectively. The fabricated FGM samples were analyzed using SEM, EDS, and XRD to determine their morphology, fracture surface, elemental composition, and evolved phases. The results showed that parameter setting with a compaction pressure of 400 MPa, a temperature of 400 ℃, and a holding time of 15 min yielded the highest grey relational grade. The optimized parameter revealed an improvement of 25.05% and 28.08% in toughness and microhardness, respectively, compared to run no. 1. The microstructural analysis of the sample with optimum properties showed that the SiC reinforcement particles were evenly dispersed throughout the AA7075 matrix, and there was strong interfacial bonding between the layers of FGM. It was found that the mixed mode of brittle and ductile fracture can absorb impact energy before failure.

LaMgAl11O19, is a kind of rare earth aluminate with the hexagonal structure, which has been used as a host material for the luminescence of various rare earth and magnet-like ions. LaMgAl11O19:Eu3+ phosphors have been prepared through the one-pot method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) and photoluminescence spectra were used to characterize the resulting phosphors. The results of XRD indicated that the phosphors crystallized completely at 1,400 degrees C. In LaMgAl11O19:Eu3+ phosphors, the Eu3+ shows its characteristic red emission at 615 nm (5D0-7F2) upon excitation into 404 nm, with an optimum doping concentration of 15 mol% of La3+ in the host lattices.

This article first discusses the influence of ferroelectric domains on ferroelectric thin films and concludes that domains are the basis of various physical properties and applications of ferroelectric materials. By changing the types and quantities of domains, the performance of ferroelectric materials can be controlled. Then the measurement principle of the ferromagnetic resonance line width in the ferroelectric thin film is proposed, and the Ba2TiSi2O8 ferroelectric thin film is prepared by the gel method. Then the ferromagnetism and temperature stability of the Ba2TiSi2O8 ferroelectric film are discussed, and the contemporary handicraft three-dimensional fiber art works are analyzed based on the ferroelectric film. The classical methods to detect ferromagnetic permeability tensors mainly include non-resonance method, Faraday rotation method, resonance method, resonance perturbation method, and so on. The experimental results in this paper show that the polarization strength of the flexible film at high temperature is slightly reduced. As the temperature increases, the flexible film still has a good hysteresis loop, and the saturation polarization strength does not change much. It shows that the Ba2TiSi2O8 structured flexible film has good temperature stability at about 80°C, and the contemporary handicraft three-dimensional fiber art work based on ferroelectric film not only has a good economic mechanism but also has its flexibility and beauty increased by 80%.
