TL;DR: Graphitic carbon nitride (CN) composite photocatalysts with NiS nanoparticles exhibit enhanced H2 evolution rates (752.9 μmol g−1 h−1) due to Schottky junction formation, which improves charge separation and electron accumulation, promoting hydrogen desorption and activity.
