An efficient routine for computing symmetric real spherical harmonics for high orders of expansion
TL;DR: In this article, a numerically efficient method of constructing symmetric real spherical harmonics is presented, which allows for fast and stable computation up to very high order symmetric harmonic bases, which can be used in protein crystallography or refinement of large viruses in electron microscopy.

TL;DR: The X-ray structure of the GH78 family α-L-rhamnosidase from Aspergillus terreus has been determined at 1.38 Å resolution using the sulfur single-wavelength anomalous dispersion phasing method and suggests that two of these accessory domains might play a role in stabilizing the aglycon portion of the bound substrate.
Structural genomics: keeping up with expanding knowledge of the protein universe
TL;DR: Despite the growth of sequence space, at present nearly half of the content of the Swiss-Prot database and over 40% of Pfam protein families can be structurally modeled based on structures determined so far, with SG projects making an increasingly significant contribution.
The structural genomics experimental pipeline: Insights from global target lists
Nicholas O'Toole,Marek Grabowski,Zbyszek Otwinowski,Wladek Minor,Miroslaw Cygler,Miroslaw Cygler +5 more
TL;DR: There is no clear bottleneck among the key stages of cloning, expression, purification and crystallization, and there is no significant difference in average structure quality among SG structures and other structures in the PDB determined by “traditional” methods, but on average SG structures are deposited to the P DB twice as quickly after X‐ray data collection.
