Expression, purification and X-ray crystallographic analysis of thioredoxin from Streptomyces coelicolor.
Petra Stefankova,Jana Maderova,Jana Maderova,Imrich Barák,Marta Kollárová,Zbyszek Otwinowski +5 more
TL;DR: The crystal structure of thioredoxin A has been determined at 1.5 A resolution using a synchrotron-radiation source and reveals a thiOREDoxin-like fold with a typical CXXC active site.
CryoEM single particle reconstruction with a complex-valued particle stack
TL;DR: In this article , the authors propose to use as a source image for the particle stack an exit-wave-reconstruction-based image, in which CTF correction is implicitly applied as a real component of the image.
An efficient routine for computing symmetric real spherical harmonics for high orders of expansion
Andrzej Kudlicki,Małgorzata Rowicka,Miroslaw Gilski,Zbyszek Otwinowski +3 more
- 01 Jun 2005
TL;DR: An efficient method for computing high-order symmetric real spherical harmonics is presented, enabling fast and stable computation up to very high order bases.
Multiparametric scaling of diffraction intensities
TL;DR: The scaling model presented here includes: scale and temperature factor per batch of data; temperature factor as a continuous function of the radiation dose; absorption in the crystal; uneven exposure within a single diffraction image; and corrections for phenomena that depend on the diffraction peak position on the detector.
Structural basis for dsRNA recognition and interferon antagonism by Ebola VP35

TL;DR: The crystal structure of the Ebola VP35 interferon inhibitory domain (IID) bound to short double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), which together with in vivo results reveals how VP35-dsRNA interactions contribute to immune evasion, suggests that simultaneous recognition of dsRNA backbone and blunt ends provides a mechanism by which EbolaVP35 antagonizes host ds RNA sensors and immune responses.
