Flexible learning in a digital world – experiences and expectations

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of Edmodo as a media study review of the learning outcomes; Knowing the learning independence relationship with learning outcomes and Knowing the influence of hybrid learning on learning independence and learning outcomes. This is experimental method with  Non-Equivalent  Control  Group Design,  consists of four groups of treatment with varied hybrid learning proportions,  each  50% (meaning  50%  learning hybrid learning and  50%  face to face), 60% (meaning  60%  of hybrid learning and  40%  face to face),  and  70% (meaning  70%  hybrid learning and  30%  face-to-face),  and one  group of others is a  conventional group (only face to face),  this group as a  control group. Data Collection with questionnaires for learning independence and knowledge tests to determine learning achievement. The  results  showed: (1)  the  use  of  Edmodo  was  effective  in  enhancing  the  results  of  a  larger  experimental  class  learning  compared  to  the  control  class  so  that  learning  became  Optimal, (2) a  significant  relationship  of learning independence learning  with  learning  outcomes,  significance  0.000, (3)  there  is  a  difference  of  influence  of  significant  variation  of  hybrid  learning to learning independence and  learning  outcomes,  with  significance  0,037

Optimization of Learning Through Edmodo-Based Hybrid Learning to Improve Learning Independence and Learning Outcomes

Creative problem-solving ability is one of the important skills that need to be developed within learners through appropriate and supportive learning experiences. This research aims to 1) assess the students’ creative problem-solving abilities after engaging in HyFlex learning combined with project-based learning; 2) evaluate the students’ innovations after engaging in HyFlex learning combined with project-based learning; and 3) study students’ opinions regarding HyFlex learning combined with project-based learning. The sample group employed cluster random sampling consisting of 30 second-year English major students. The research tools included an assessment of creative problem-solving abilities, an assessment of innovation, and a questionnaire about students’ opinions regarding HyFlex learning combined with project-based learning. Statistical analysis involved means and standard deviations. The research findings were as follows: 1) Students have the highest level of creative problem-solving abilities; 2) Innovations created by students have the highest average score; 3) Students’ opinions toward HyFlex learning combined with project-based learning are at the highest level.

Improving Creative Problem-Solving Abilities of English Students through HyFlex Learning Management and Project-Based Learning

The understanding of the Mexican Energetic Reform as an immediate application of the acquired knowledge in the Electricity and Magnetism Course at Tecnologico de Monterrey Campus Ciudad de Mexico (Tec de Monterrey - CCM) is presented. Hybrid learning activities were designed to fully exploit and transform the classroom experience. Ethical reflections and citizenship discussions added an out-of-the-box perspective to this fundamental Physics Course.

Hybrid learning experience for the Mexican Energetic Reform

Since the transmission of knowledge has started, it solely relied on traditional teaching methods but ever since technology-mediated instructions have emerged, they potentially brought a revolution in how we teach, when we teach, from where we teach and what gadgets, modes and apps can better cater learners’ interest and motivation. In this context, hybrid learning is a novel approach in academic settings that embraces advantage of the retention of face-to-face component of traditional classes and e-learning environment. The present study aims at investigating Taif University’s male and female English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ satisfaction towards the onsite and online learning environments. An opinionnaire with 20 items was developed with closed ended questions by employing Likert’s five-point scale to collect the data from 200 male and female EFL participants of Taif University, represents quantitative dimensions of the study. The research tool is designed to measure learners’ satisfaction that is further categorized into five subscales. These include: (a) learners’ satisfaction with the instructor and their real-time feedback; (b) perceived ease of use of technology and internet; (c) effective course content and interactive and collaborative activities; (d) finally engaging nature of hybrid learning and its impacts on learners’ interest and motivation. The study finds no significant differences in male and female participants’ perceptions regarding effective delivery of hybrid instructions except meek variations in male and female learners’ preferences in perceived ease of use of technology. The statistics reveal that male participants and their female counterparts slightly differ in their satisfaction level towards the technical problems faced by them in recording their scores, flexibility in terms of time and space, and in smooth completion of online activities. Finally, the study provides few recommendations to fix certain issues and improve the quality of hybrid learning environment.

A Gender-Based Study to Investigate Saudi Male and Female EFL Learners’ Satisfaction Towards the Effectiveness of Hybrid Learning

Abstract—In contrast with traditional classroom method, hybrid learning is the combination concept of online learning and face to face learning. The purpose of this study is to determine a utilization of hybrid learning in accomplishing students learning satisfaction. This study shows the importance of achieving student satisfaction within hybrid learning method. The information generated from this study could guide university administrators and educators, as well as the policy makers in government education system on how to satisfied learning and training environment for the learning activities in universities. The population of this study represented by the bachelor students of Instructional Communication and Training Programme, from the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University Technology MARA, Shah Alam. Researcher used Qualitative method as a research design and online survey as its instrument in data findings. The results revealed from this study shows that hybrid learning is the adoption by information technology infrastructure and it should be implemented by the university in this globalization era. With the combination of traditional face to face method and online learning activities lead to the critical factors in accomplishing student’s learning satisfaction.
