Antibacterial Activity of AI-Hemocidin 2, a Novel N-Terminal Peptide of Hemoglobin Purified from Arca inflata
Chunlei Li,Jianhua Zhu,Yanqing Wang,Yuyan Chen,Liyan Song,Weiming Zheng,Jingjing Li,Rongmin Yu +7 more
TL;DR: The results indicated that the anti-bacterial mechanism for AI-hemocidin 2 occurred through disrupting the cell membrane, suggesting that it might be a potential candidate for tackling antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Protocell self-assembly driven by sodium trimetaphosphate.
Yuyan Chen,Yangyang Chi,Yang Liu,Yufen Zhao +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors systematically investigated the sodium trimetaphosphate (P3m)-activated peptide formation reaction of Phe in an alkaline decanoic acid-decanol vesicle system.

Prebiotic formation of catalytically active dipeptides via trimetaphosphate activation.
Yangyang Chi,Xin Yan Li,Yuyan Chen,Yumeng Zhang,Yang Liu,Xiang Gao,Yufen Zhao +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a microwave reactor was used to simulate hydrothermal environments, such as sub-aerial or sub-submarine environments, and the formation of small functional peptides involving sodium trimetaphosphate (P3m) activation in an alkaline aqueous solution was investigated under two typical prebiotic environments.
Purification and characterization of an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory polypeptide from Arca subcrenata.
TL;DR: There is a high degree of homology between PGC and the subunit from hemoglobin, and it is proposed that PGC is the depolymerized polypeptide of Hemoglobin I (HbI) from A. subcrenata muscle that might be developed as one of potential antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents.
