BlueVoice: Voice communications over Bluetooth Low Energy in the Internet of Things scenario

Safety is of great importance in mining regions. An IoT based wearable device inculcating the safety features for mine workers is developed. It consists of helmet module and the base station module. Sensors used in this wearable device are the temperature sensor (DHT11), humidity sensor (DHT11), gas sensor (MQ4) and collision detection sensor (SW420). The various quantities monitored are communicated by wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technology. Helmet detection circuit checks for the presence of the device. The base station module consists of personal computer having access to the cloud. An IoT platform is used to update the real time data to the cloud, which can be accessed from anywhere around the restricted area. Miner is alerted using Organic LED (OLED) for temperature as well as humidity monitoring while a buzzer alert is made available to detect the gas level in the mine. Communication is through the inbuilt wi-fi of the controller. A notification alert is sent to the supervisor if any unusual situation is encountered. Thus a wearable device incorporating the various sensors, alerting mechanism and communication system is developed to enhance safety of the miner.

Pervaporation (PV) is an emerging membrane technology for liquid separations due to its small carbon footprint. Recently, a large number of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have been employed as membrane materials for PV. Herein, advances in polycrystalline MOF membranes for PV are reviewed. The structural characteristics (10 MOFs), fabrication methods (five types), and PV applications (four kinds) of polycrystalline MOF membranes are intensively studied, and their relationships are established. Finally, a perspective on membrane structure, performance, large-scale production, and operation stability under industrial conditions is proposed. 

Polycrystalline Metal–Organic Framework Membranes for Pervaporation

Neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy may benefit patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but its impact requires further investigation.A meta-analysis was conducted. PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library were searched. The study was registered in PROSPERO (registration no. CRD42022360893).60 studies of 3,632 patients were included. Comparing with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy showed higher pCR (RR: 4.71, 95% CI: 3.69, 6.02), MPR (RR, 3.20, 95% CI: 2.75, 3.74), and ORR (RR, 1.46, 95% CI: 1.21, 1.77), fewer surgical complications (RR: 0.67, 95%CI: 0.48, 0.94), higher R0 resection rate (RR: 1.06, 95%CI: 1.03, 1.10, I2 = 52%), and longer 1-year and 2-year OS, without affecting TRAEs. For neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy in NSCLC, the pooled pCR rate was 0.35 (95% CI: 0.31, 0.39), MPR was 0.59 (95% CI: 0.54, 0.63), and ORR was 0.71 (95% CI: 0.66, 0.76). The pooled incidence of all grade TRAEs was 0.70 (95% CI: 0.60, 0.81), and that of >= grade 3 TRAEs was 0.24 (95% CI: 0.16, 0.32). The surgical complications rate was 0.13 (95% CI: 0.07, 0.18) and R0 resection rate was 0.98 (95% CI: 0.96, 0.99). The pooled 1-year OS was 0.97 (95%CI: 0.96, 0.99), and 2-year OS was 0.89 (95%CI: 0.83, 0.94). Patients with squamous cell carcinoma, stage III or higher PD-L1 performed better. Notably, no significant differences were observed in pCR, MPR, and ORR between 2 or more treatment cycles. Pembrolizumab-, or toripalimab-based neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy demonstrated superior efficacy and tolerable toxicity.According to our analysis, reliable efficacy, safety, and survival of neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy for operable NSCLC were demonstrated.https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php?ID=CRD42022360893, identifier CRD42022360893.

Voice communication is the main part of wireless communication. ZigBee is a new wireless network technology, which includes low-rate, low-cost, low-energy consumption, and short distance. Although it is not designed for voice communication, its 250kbps bandwidth is enough to support the voice communication. In this paper, we achieve wireless real-time voice communication based on AMBE-1000, CC2530, and TI-Zstack protocol. We have five nodes, of which one is coordinator, one is end device, and the other three are routers. These five nodes constitute the wireless voice communication system. The system can be used in underground coal-mine equipment, earthquake disaster relief, fire fight rescue, etc.

Pervaporation Separation of C6 Alkane Isomers by Al-Bttotb Membrane

Though drought is known to affect biogenic emissions of volatile organic compounds (BVOC), its effect on isoprene and formaldehyde (HCHO), a high yield product of isoprene, has not been investigated in East Asia where incidences of drought have increased in recent years. In this work, we analyzed the impact of drought on HCHO in the South Korea region during the summer period (June, July, and August) from 2005 to 2018 and found increased HCHO due to drought. The tropospheric HCHO column density retrieved by OMI increased by 8.02 % during extreme drought compared to the non-drought period, whereas no significant effect of drought on the NO2 column was found. Regional variation of HCHO response to drought correlates significantly with the tree percentage of the region. This correlation indicates that the drought-led HCHO increases are most likely driven by the increase in isoprene emissions during drought. Indeed, model predicts isoprene emissions to be higher by 27.87 % during the extreme drought compared to the non-drought period in South Korea. From 2005 to 2018, the HCHO column has been increasing in South Korea by 0.16 × 1015 molecules/cm2/year (1.56 % per year) during summer months, correlated with the increasing incidences of drought. HCHO increase is linked to higher ozone as most of South Korea is in the NOx-saturated or transitional regime.
