Measurement of solidification heat from supercooled water freezing during PEFC cold start and visualization of ice distribution
TL;DR: In this paper, a method of classifying two different freezing modes using 6-μm thickness thin-film thermocouples (TFTCs) was proposed, and the authors conducted in situ measurement of the solidification heat from supercooled water using originally developed TFTCs and further visualized the ice distribution using X-ray CT.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of MPL properties on temperature and liquid water distribution was investigated using an X-ray CT apparatus for visualizing the liquid water in the GDL, and Au-Ni thin film thermocouples with a thickness of about 9 μm were fabricated using MEMS technology and used for the temperature measurement.
