Boron neutron capture therapy using cyclotron-based epithermal neutron source and borofalan (10B) for recurrent or locally advanced head and neck cancer (JHN002): An open-label phase II trial.
Katsumi Hirose,Akiyoshi Konno,Junichi Hiratsuka,Seiichi Yoshimoto,Takahiro Kato,Koji Ono,Naoki Otsuki,Jun Hatazawa,Hiroki Tanaka,Kanako Takayama,Hitoshi Wada,Motohisa Suzuki,Mariko Sato,Hisashi Yamaguchi,Ichiro Seto,Yuji Ueki,Susumu Iketani,Shigeki Imai,Tatsuya Nakamura,Takashi Ono,Hiromasa Endo,Yusuke Azami,Yasuhiro Kikuchi,Masao Murakami,Yoshihiro Takai +24 more
TL;DR: These data suggest that BNCT using C-BENS with borofalan(10B) is a promising treatment option for patients with R-SCC or R/LA-nSCC of the head and neck.

Clinical outcomes and toxicity of proton beam therapy for advanced cholangiocarcinoma
Chiyoko Makita,Tatsuya Nakamura,Akinori Takada,Kanako Takayama,Motohisa Suzuki,Yojiro Ishikawa,Yusuke Azami,Takahiro Kato,Iwao Tsukiyama,Yasuhiro Kikuchi,Masato Hareyama,M. Murakami,Nobukazu Fuwa,Masaharu Hata,Tomio Inoue +14 more
TL;DR: Relatively high LC rates after PBT for advanced cholangiocarcinoma can be achieved by delivery of a BED10 > 70 Gy, and Gastrointestinal toxicities, especially those of the duodenum, are dose-limiting toxicities associated with PBT, and early metastatic progression remains a treatment obstacle.
Abscopal effect following radiation monotherapy in breast cancer: A case report
Ayaka Azami,Nobuyasu Suzuki,Yusuke Azami,Ichiro Seto,Atai Sato,Yoshinao Takano,Tsuyoshi Abe,Yasushi Teranishi,Kazunoshin Tachibana,Tohru Ohtake +9 more
TL;DR: An extremely rare case of breast cancer in a 64-year-old woman, in whom the abscopal effect was observed after radiotherapy induced an antitumor response in all metastatic lesions, without any combination therapy.
Treatment results of alternating chemoradiotherapy followed by proton beam therapy boost combined with intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy for stage III–IVB tongue cancer
Kanako Takayama,Tatsuya Nakamura,Akinori Takada,Chiyoko Makita,Motohisa Suzuki,Yusuke Azami,Takahiro Kato,Yuichiro Hayashi,Takashi Ono,Yutaka Toyomasu,Masato Hareyama,Yasuhiro Kikuchi,Takashi Daimon,Kenji Mitsudo,Iwai Tohnai,Nobukazu Fuwa +15 more
TL;DR: Proton beam therapy combined with selective intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy (PBT-IACT) for stage III–IVB tongue cancer has an acceptable toxicity profile and showed good treatment results.

The clinical results of proton beam therapy in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: a single center experience
Takashi Ono,Masato Hareyama,Tatsuya Nakamura,Kanako Kimura,Yuichiro Hayashi,Yusuke Azami,Katsumi Hirose,Yoshiomi Hatayama,Motohisa Suzuki,Hitoshi Wada,Yasuhiro Kikuchi,Kenji Nemoto +11 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that PBT can be performed more safely in IPF patients than surgery or X-ray irradiation, although PBT has become a treatment choice for lung tumors of patients with IPF, the adverse events warrant serious attention.
