Responses of groundwater and soil to dewatering considering the barrier effect of adjacent metro station on multi-aquifers
TL;DR: In this article , a coupled hydro-mechanical numerical model was used to simulate dewatering inside a foundation pit with a nearby metro station, and extensive numerical simulations were conducted to investigate the behaviors of groundwater and soil during de-watering under water blocking and soil blocking effects.

TL;DR: This study investigates the barrier effect of preexisting building piles on aquifer flow during construction dewatering for a metro station foundation pit, finding significant differences in groundwater level drawdown, ground settlement, and building movement between sides with and without pile foundations.

Behaviours of groundwater and strata during dewatering of large-scale excavations with a nearby underground barrier
TL;DR: In this article , a typical metro station was selected as an underground barrier, and its barrier effect on the responses of groundwater and strata to dewatering of adjacent large-scale excavations were numerically investigated.
