By embracing circular principles, industries can contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient economy while creating economic value and minimizing environmental impact.

Importance of Circular Economy for Resource Optimization in Various Industry Sectors – A Review-based Opportunity Analysis

Abstract Nowadays innovations became the most important element of the country’s economic development, since they provide a qualitative increase in the efficiency of processes or end production demanded by the market. In this article, the innovation of processes, viz. the processes of logistic management of the production-economic organization is proposed. Innovations in logistics management, as a direction of logistics activity improvement provide the development of new tools (methods, criteria, indices) in methodological logistics’ groundwork, as well as improving the mechanism for the formation and functioning of micro- and macro-logistic systems. The aim of the research is to develop scientific and methodological recommendations for the application of logistics management innovations that involve designing the logistics system through the improvement of the enterprise’s organizational structure as an element of the economic macro environment. Logistic system designing approach is suggested, that anticipates an enterprise’s organizational structure formation under the process-matrix principle (unification of functional and process management approaches) and the establishment of the effective enterprise’s logistic service that plays the role of coordinator and integrator of its business-processes. Efficient organization structure formation, that provides logistics approach implementation in practical enterprises’ activity is grounded by authors. The result of the innovations in logistics management appliance is effective logistic system’s design, in which the coordinated material, informational and financial flows motion is carried out. In the result, it ensures efficient enterprise’s business-processes functioning and organic improvement of its organizational structure.

The state and features of small business development in Ukraine are studied in the context of ensuring the postulates of sustainable development. Positive and negative trends and changes are revealed, prospects of the development of business structures are defined in terms of sustainable development. Assessing the concentration of entrepreneurial activity in the regions of Ukraine, we note the presence of certain fluctuations in the dynamics and interregional differences in the density of economic entities per 10 thousand population. Based on the analysis of the entrepreneurial  activity in the regions of Ukraine, it is established that despite the insufficient level of small business development, its influence on the economic development of the regions is growing. This is confirmed by the calculated coefficient of the impact of revenues from small businesses to the local budget on GRP, the importance of which is growing in all regions. The calculation of the ratio of personnel costs in the field of small business to personnel costs in all enterprises shows its tendency to decrease in most regions, which is explained by an increase in business shadowing rather than lower wages and a reduced number of employees in these enterprises. It is proved that the development of entrepreneurship solves not only economic but also social issues. It is an effective means of restructuring, enhancing innovation, overcoming imbalances in certain market segments, creating new jobs and reducing unemployment. Stimulating the development of an entrepreneurial activity, supporting small business and creating conditions for economic management are among the primary tasks of the state's economic policy.

Concentration of entrepreneurial activity in the regions of ukraine in the context of sustainable development

. The article analyzes the uneven economic growth in the regions of Ukraine and proposes the development of regional policy based on the use of the smart specialization idea. As a tool for analyzing the uneven economic development of regions, we used a method based on the comparison of regions by gross regional product per capita, which formed the basis for determining the funnel of backwardness of the region among others in terms of economic growth. The analysis was conducted for 2010 and 2020.  The calculations made it possible to identify areas that differ significantly in development potential. It is proposed to use the ideas of the smart specialization concept as a new model of the Ukraine’s regions economic development in order to equalize interregional disparities.  Revealed the essence of this concept implementation on the example of the Carpathian region economy in 2020 is revealed. It is determined that the formation of educational, tourist and construction clusters in the region are the foundations that will form a long-term strategy for its development. The main measures for the introduction of construction and educational clusters are proposed. The components that determine the innovative development of Ukraine on the basis of the Global Indices of Competitiveness and Innovation are analyzed. Proposed the formation of economic policy, which is aimed at solving strategic tasks of the regions socio-economic development - ensuring economic growth and quality of life in Ukraine. It is justified that the application of the smart specialization approach in long-term regional strategies will contribute to a synergistic effect for both human and innovative development, which is the goal of the new regional economic policy. 
 To solvethe tasks used general and special research methods, namely: theoretical generalization to clarify the essence of smart specialization), statistical, comparative, comparative and strategic analysis (to calculate and build the dynamics of GRP per capita by region of Ukraine), graphical (for a visual representation of the results of the analysis). In addition, the visualization method was used to build the algorithm for forming the regional policy of Ukraine.

Socio-economic development in the context of using reasonable specialization in the economy of ukraine

This research is devoted to revealing the theoretical and practical foundations of the intellectual economy formation in the conditions of post-industrial society transformation. Using the historical method of analysis, the authors has made the comparative assessment of the main approaches to explaining the content, factors and features of the intellectual economy development. It has been proved that the main driving force of economic development in the intellectual economy is knowledge, which simultaneously acts as both a resource and a product, and for that product specific demand at all levels of the economic system has been formed. In our view, the intellectual economy is a type of economic system that, being based on the intellectual capital of society in the conditions of development of modern information technologies and systems, uses, transforms, creates and disseminates information and knowledge in order to ensure the growth of social welfare, international competitiveness of countries and extended knowledge and innovation cycle formation. That is, knowledge is at the heart of the development of the economic system, and, at the same time, is the final product of this system in each cycle of reproduction of the socio-ecological-economic system. The determining direction of the transformations in the intellectual economy is predominantly the creation and consumption of knowledge as a different type of intellectual property, including its materialized form with a high intellectual component. The fact that knowledge and information are not only used as an inexhaustible cognitive resource for the development of production, but also turn into the main types of consumption associated with personal development, as a means of renewing and building up this resource, is the key to the endless progress of the intellectual economy. The special features and principles of development of intellectual economy have been explained in the paper. These features and principles have been suggested to use as criteria for the construction of national programs for the intellectual economy formation, as well as for these programs success estimation. The recommendations for overcoming the barriers to building Ukrainian intellectual economy have been elaborated.
