CNTF-STAT3-IL-6 Axis Mediates Neuroinflammatory Cascade across Schwann Cell-Neuron-Microglia.
TL;DR: It is found that ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF), highly expressed in Schwann cells, mediates neuroinflammatory response through the activating signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and inducing interleukin 6 (IL-6) in sensory neurons.

Transcriptional mechanism of IRF8 and PU.1 governs microglial activation in neurodegenerative condition.
TL;DR: This study elucidated the central transcriptional mechanism of microglial activation in response to neurodegenerative condition and shows that transcription factors IRF8 and PU.1 are both indispensible for microglian activation, as their specific post-developmental deletion in microglia abolishes the process.

Sarm1-mediated neurodegeneration within the enteric nervous system protects against local inflammation of the colon.
TL;DR: In this paper, Sarm1-mediated axonal degeneration within the enteric nervous system (ENS) of the mouse, non-human primate, and human by advanced 3D imaging was observed.
