Modeling method of concrete material at mesoscale with refined aggregate shapes based on image recognition
TL;DR: A refined aggregate modeling method is proposed using statistical rules based on image recognition to refine the aggregate model to a three-level framework based on the particle size, aspect ratio, and surface texture.

A 3D random porous media model for cement mortar based on X-ray computed tomography
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed a 3D random porous media model to characterize the spatial distribution associated with the porosity in cement mortar, which is a typical porous media in which the spatial pores are of vital importance to flow problems.

Multiphysics simulation for concrete early-age hydration behavior with mesoscopic modelling
TL;DR: In this paper , a comprehensive theoretical framework is proposed with detailed material modelling and physics coupling relationship, and experiments are carried out to investigate the hydration process and mechanical shrinkage of concrete, and the results are used for parameter regression and model validation.

RC structures life-cycle probabilistic evaluation method considering mesoscopic material uncertainty with chloride ingress
TL;DR: In this paper , a structural life-cycle probabilistic evaluation method is proposed based on the material uncertainty influence, and the computational framework consists of three steps: simulation of chloride ingress in structural cross-section considering mesoscopic variation, finite element analysis of structural response with modifying reinforcement corrosion states; and the structural performance is evaluated probabilistically with the trained Artificial Neural Network model.
