The nitrogen removal characterization of a cold-adapted bacterium: Bacillus simplex H-b.
Qian Yang,Ting Yang,Yi Shi,Yu Xin,Liang Zhang,Zhenghua Gu,Youran Li,Zhongyang Ding,Guiyang Shi +8 more
TL;DR: Both the accumulation level of ATP and the formation of extracellular polymeric substances was found to increase with the decrease of temperature, indicating strain H-b might resist low temperature stress through its cellular extreme environment resistant mechanism and further suggesting the newly isolated strain could serve as a promising candidate for nitrogen contaminated wastewater treatment, especially under low-temperature condition.

A novel transthyretin/STAT4/miR-223-3p/FBXW7 signaling pathway affects neovascularization in diabetic retinopathy.
TL;DR: A novel mechanism whereby TTR might affect neovascularization through a newly identified STAT4/miR-223-3p/FBXW7 cascade in DR is found.

Characterization on the aerobic denitrification process of Bacillus strains
TL;DR: In this article, the properties of denitrifying Bacillus subtilis JD-014 were investigated in a simulated 5L sewage bioreactor, and the denitrification metabolic pathway was confirmed by investigating the nitrogen balance, gaseous nitrogen production, enzyme activity and functional genes analysis.

A novel and highly efficient system for chalcopyrite bioleaching by mixed strains of Acidithiobacillus
TL;DR: Compared with the individual stable pH, silver or chloride ion systems, the relevance of biological and chemical reactions achieved a better balance in the integrated system and indicated that this system was a novel and believable strategy for effectively operating chalcopyrite bioleaching.

A protocol for optimization vinegar fermentation according to the ratio of oxygen consumption versus acid yield
TL;DR: In this article, a semi-continuous fermentation protocol was proposed to optimize the fermentation rate and fermentation efficiency for industrial vinegar production, where the initial acidity of discontinuous procedure was adjusted to adjust bacterial metabolism.
