A Comparative Study of Algebra Viewpoint and Information Viewpoint in Attribute Reduction
TL;DR: A comparative study on the quantitative relationship between some basic concepts of rough set theory like attribute reduction, attribute significance and core defined from these two viewpoints shows that the relationship between these conceptions from the two viewpoints is rather an inclusion than an equivalence.

Theoretical study on attribute reduction of rough set theory: comparison of algebra and information views
Guoyin Wang,Jun Zhao,Jiu-Jiang An,Yu Wu +3 more
- 16 Aug 2004
TL;DR: The results show that the relation between those corresponding conceptions in algebra view and information view is typically inclusion rather than equivalence, and its reason is that information view restricts attributes and systems more specifically than algebra view.

New anti-spam filter based on data mining and analysis of email security
Yu Wu,Zhijun Li,Ping Luo,Guoyin Wang +3 more
- 25 Mar 2003
TL;DR: By mining email headers, this paper can find potential security problems of some email systems and cheating methods of Spam senders, and obtain some useful anti-Spam knowledge from all the email headers.

A rule generation algorithm based on granular computing
Jiu-Jiang An,Guoyin Wang,Yu Wu,Quan Gan +3 more
- 25 Jul 2005
TL;DR: In this paper, a rule generation algorithm based on granular computing (RGAGC) is developed and the "false preserving" property of quotient space theory is used as a strategy to control the process of rule granule generation, so that RGAGC could generate rule granules from the granule space quickly.

Rule generation based on rough set theory
Guoyin Wang,Yu Wu,Paul S. Fisher +2 more
- 06 Apr 2000
TL;DR: An approach that can generate logical rules from an information system based on Pawlak's rough set theory which can generate both the maximal generalized decision rules as well as potential interesting and useful rules according to requirements is proposed.
