Towards effective prioritizing water pipe replacement and rehabilitation
Junchi Yan,Yu Wang,Ke Zhou,Jin Huang,Chunhua Tian,Hongyuan Zha,Weishan Dong +6 more
- 03 Aug 2013
TL;DR: The failure sequence is formulated as a self-exciting stochastic process which is, to the best knowledge, a novel formulation for pipe failure prediction and it is shown that it outperforms a baseline assuming the failure risk grows linearly with aging.

Head-shoulder based gender recognition
Min Li,Shenghua Bao,Weishan Dong,Yu Wang,Zhong Su +4 more
- 01 Sep 2013
TL;DR: Experimental results on a large real-world dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed gender recognition method, which uses a rich high-dimensional feature descriptor to extract gradient, texture and orientation information from the head-shoulder area.

Method and system for switching terminals among multiple wireless access points (AP)
Jianbin Tang,Qian Kun Zhao,Feng Juan Wang,Junchi Yan,Chao Zhang,Yu Wang +5 more
- 06 May 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a switch target selection method for multiple wireless APs, where the connection between the second wireless AP and the terminal is a virtual connection and a switch request is submitted to the second AP in response to receiving a switch response from the first wireless AP.
