Molecular dynamics simulation of femtosecond ablation and spallation with different interatomic potentials
TL;DR: In this article, a femtosecond laser pulse (fsLP) with duration τ L ∼ 40 − 100 Âfs results in the formation of thermomechanically stressed state.

Thermal Conductivity and the Electron-Ion Heat Transfer Coefficient in Condensed Media with a Strongly Excited Electron Subsystem
TL;DR: In this paper, the two-temperature thermal conductivity coefficient and electron-ion heat transfer coefficient α, which are necessary for the quantitative description of the processes initiated by ultrashort laser pulse, were calculated using a kinetic equation, the matrix element for the scattering probability, and a screened Coulomb potential describing the interaction between charged particles.

TL;DR: In this article, the formation, structure, and ejection of the laser plume has been studied and the results of molecular dynamics simulations and a theoretical survey of plume structure based on these results are presented.

Destruction of a solid film under the action of ultrashort laser pulse
Sergei I. Anisimov,V. V. Zhakhovskii,V. V. Zhakhovskii,Nail Inogamov,Katsunobu Nishihara,A. M. Oparin,Yu. V. Petrov +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a model of a more complex process of splitting out of a thin surface layer from a massive target in the case where the layer remains solid after heating is presented.

Laser Acoustic Probing of Two-Temperature Zone Created by Femtosecond Pulse
Nail Inogamov,Vasily Zhakhovsky,Vasily Zhakhovsky,S. I. Ashitkov,Viktor Khokhlov,V. V. Shepelev,P. S. Komarov,Andrey V. Ovchinnikov,Dmitry S. Sitnikov,Yu. V. Petrov,Mikhail B. Agranat,Sergei I. Anisimov,Vladimir E. Fortov +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors combine theoretical and experimental methods to study the processes induced by fast laser heating of metal foils, which reveal themselves through motion of frontal (irradiated) and rear-side foil boundaries.
