Companies in all businesses need efficient and user-friendly tools for experience design in a fast-paced digitalized world searching for sustainability. Although there are hundreds of methods and models in the interdisciplinary area of experience design, a general methodological framework for capturing the user experience as a personal outcome of the interaction with digitalized products and services into the value proposition of a business model is missing. In this paper, we develop a methodological framework for service design that guides the experience design process, aiming to enrich the value proposition with user experience in a business model. The framework is developed by integrating the fields of user experience design, service design, and business model design based on the notion of service-dominant logic and following design science principles. The framework is evaluated according to the design science methodology by applying multiple case studies in seven small and medium-sized companies in Croatia. 

User Experience, Business Models, and Service Design in Concert: Towards a General Methodological Framework for Value Proposition Enhancement

Many changes have occurred due to the digitalization of education in Indonesia today, especially in terms of teaching and learning. Many colleges and universities have incorporated digital technology into the educational process, one of which is learning videos. Learning videos can be in the form of class recordings that are uploaded to the internet or tutorial videos made specifically for certain subjects. Learning videos can help students understand material more easily and can be accessed by students anytime and anywhere, thus facilitating the teaching and learning process. User Experience (UX) deals with the emotions, feelings, and thoughts that users experience when using a product or service. UX can be applied to learning videos by focusing on several factors, such as delivering material that is clear and easy to understand. So in this study, a UX assessment was carried out on learning videos. Learning videos using cash and bank material in introductory accounting courses at the diploma level with the concept of motion graphics Motion graphics were chosen because of their flexibility in conveying this information and attracting students' interest. This study consisted of seven processes, including: 1) determining goals and objectives; 2) making scenarios and scripts; 3) equipment preparation; 4) recording; 5) editing; 6) publication; and 7) assessment. In the assessment process, the respondent fills out a questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 10 questions with aspects of use (usefulness, satisfaction, and ease of use). The value of each question in the questionnaire ranges from 1 to 4, with the following conditions: 1) bad; 2) enough; 3) good; and 4) very good. Every day for seven days, ten different people responded. As a result of filling out the questionnaire, a fluctuating curve was obtained.

Sora for Intelligent Vehicles: A Step from Constraint-based Simulation to Artificiofactual Experiments through Dynamic Visualization

Quality education and well-being have always been the focus of sustainable development as social concerns, with an increasing demand for enriched cultural activities. Shared experiences, especially in family setting, bring about a better understanding of culture and foster public interest. In this context, our research endeavors to promote the philosophies and historical insights of Yangmingism while concurrently seeking to uplift family well-being through the immersive cultural exposure offered by Yue Opera, a national opera in China. To intertwine the cultural content for a consistent and continued experience, we design LanternOperAR, a hybrid gift for cultural appreciation, learning and recreation. We fully consider and respect user interests and requirements among different target groups to provide playful interaction in cultural activity, thereby promoting cultural inheritance and strengthening family ties.

LanternOperAR: A Hybrid Cultural Gift for Quality Education and Family Well-being✱

Camera relocalization is a challenging task to estimate camera pose within a known scene, with wide applications in the fields of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), robotics, and etc. Most existing learning-based methods invariably utilize all the information within an image for pose estimation. Although these methods have demonstrated leading pose accuracy in some cases, they are still far from being sufficient to handle the robustness under challenging viewpoints with less impacts on the localization accuracy for viewpoints that are easier to localize. In this paper, we propose a novel two-branch camera pose estimation framework: one branch utilizes keypoint-guided partial scene coordinate regression, while the other employs full scene coordinate regression to assess the credibility of image poses, thereby enabling more accurate camera localization. In particular, we devise a keypoint selection method predicated on matching rate which is designed to measure the matching quality between a 3D keypoint and 2D keypoints across views. With these selected 3D keypoints, we can generate 2D supervision mask with the ground-truth camera pose to supervise the keypoint prediction from the keypoint selection

MEinVR: Multimodal interaction techniques in immersive exploration

Digitization is becoming a significant trend in cultural learning. In this context, we present TimeQuestAR, an interactive board game to foster public interest and understanding of culture within the ancient capital of China, Jinling. The design grounded in the principles of situated visualization, offers users immersive, contextually rich experiences that deepen their understanding of historical and cultural narratives. We provide an overview of TimeQuestAR and conduct a user evaluation through in-depth interviews. Our findings indicate that the prototype shows promising potential to promote cultural learning through playful experiences. Drawing from these findings, we propose design suggestions and delve into the prospective value of the design in education, business, and culture.

TimeQuestAR: Unfolding Cultural Narratives via Situated Visualizations

This study examines the effects of two visual guidance techniques, Visual Enhancement and Visual Suppression, on user perception of contextual information in video content. Visual Enhancement introduces explicit visual cues to highlight target content, whereas Visual Suppression attenuates non-target elements, for example, by reducing their brightness. Both approaches aim to isolate specific objects from the background, directing attention to critical information within complex, dynamic scenes. Despite their growing usage, the relative effectiveness of these approaches in guiding attention and their impact on peripheral context awareness remain underexplored. To address this gap, we conducted a controlled user study with 27 participants. The results indicate that Visual Enhancement, through the addition of salient cues, more effectively directs user attention to target information than Visual Suppression. Our findings advance understanding of visual attention in dynamic environments and offer implications for designing visual guidance strategies.

More or Less? Effects of Visual Information Modulation on Context Perception

Immersive environments have become increasingly popular for visu-alizing and exploring large-scale, complex scientific datasets because of their inherent features: immersion, engagement, awareness, etc. Virtual Reality has brought rich opportunities for supporting a wide variety of novel interaction techniques, such as tactile and tangible interactions, gesture interactions, voice commands, etc. Multimodal interaction refers to that users are equipped with multiple modes for interacting with data. However, it is still important to determine how these techniques can be used and combined as a more natural interaction metaphor. In this paper, we aim to explore interaction techniques combining VR controller with voice input for a novel multimodal experience. We present MEin VR, a multimodal interaction technique that enables users to manipulate 3D molecular data in the virtual environment. Users can use VR controller to specify location or region of interest, and use voice command to express the tasks that they intend to perform on the data. This combination can serve as an intuitive means for users to perform complex data exploration tasks in immersive settings. We believe that our work can help inform the design of multimodal interaction techniques that incorporate multiple inputs for 3D data exploration in immersive environments.

MEinVR: Multimodal Interaction Paradigms in Immersive Exploration

We developed an AI-assisted interactive visual system that allow users to explore Journey to the West’s magical artifacts. Although prior studies have explored its narrative and symbolism, the embedded technological metaphors and speculative interaction concepts in the novel remain underexplored. Leveraging ChatGPT-4 for deep semantic analysis, we extracted mappings between principal characters and their signature artifacts and embedded interaction patterns reflecting mythical affordances. These affordances guided the creation of a progressive, narrative-driven interactive visual system built on large displays. In a user study with 20 participants, the system achieved high usability scores and strong preference with facial-matching and multimodal artifact exploration feature. Our work provides a framework for reinterpreting and showcasing mythological narratives. The Appendix is available at our GitHub repository.
