TL;DR: In low dimensional quantum systems, electrons (and holes and excitons) are confined to move in a plane, along a wire, or within a quantum dot as discussed by the authors, and a brief survey is given of some novel phenomena that occur in low-dimensional systems, including weak localization, dephasing, shot noise, strong correlations, Wigner crystals, exotic concepts associated with the fractional quantum Hall effect, high temperature superconductivity, 1D spin systems, and the spin Hall effect.

Klein bound states in single-layer graphene
TL;DR: In this article, the Klein paradox of chiral tunneling in single-layer graphene is shown to also manifest in graphene bound states with a 1D square-well potential and the role of parity and time-reversal symmetries is discussed.

Infrared spectroscopy of quantum crossbars
TL;DR: In this article, a 1D!2D dimensional crossover with varying angle of an incident wave or its frequency is described, where the dielectric losses on a substrate surface are significantly changed due to appearance of additional Landau damping.

Simple model of a Feshbach resonance in the strong-coupling regime
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the dressed potentials obtained in the adiabatic representation of two coupled channels to calculate $s$-wave Feshbach resonances in a three-dimensional spherically symmetric potential with an open channel interacting with a closed channel.
