TL;DR: The nerve fibers were mainly of sensory origin, as they showed immunoreactivity for CGRP and GAP-43/B-50, and it is speculated that the nerve fibers may act as transmitters of nociceptive impulses from the graft, and as transport pathways for neuropeptides that are actively involved in angio- genesis and in the recruitment and activity of osteo- genic cell populations from a graft recipient.

TL;DR: The peculiar pattern of tenascin expression suggests it may play a role in the regulation of cell behavior at the interfaces of different elements of the musculoskeletal system and in various pathological processes, in particular those involving attachment and/or detachment of cells from the extracellular matrix and their proliferation and collagenase secretion.

TL;DR: The results of total hip replacement surgery have been somewhat compromised since the 1980s as a result of treatment of even frail senior citizens, but the overall outcome is still excellent in this nationwide series and equally so for patients operated for rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis.
