Regulation of the expression of nine antimicrobial peptide genes by TmIMD confers resistance against Gram-negative bacteria.
Yong Hun Jo,Bharat Bhusan Patnaik,Jihun Hwang,Ki Beom Park,Hye Jin Ko,Chang Eun Kim,Young Min Bae,Woo Jin Jung,Yongseok Lee,Yeon Soo Han +9 more
TL;DR: Cloned and functionally characterized an IMD homolog from the mealworm beetle Tenebrio molitor and studied its role in host survival in the context of pathogenic infections, suggesting that TmIMD is required to confer humoral immunity against the Gram-negative bacteria, E. coli and fungus C. albicans.
TmSpz6 Is Essential for Regulating the Immune Response to Escherichia Coli and Staphylococcus Aureus Infection in Tenebrio Molitor.
Tariku Tesfaye Edosa,Tariku Tesfaye Edosa,Yong Hun Jo,Maryam Keshavarz,Young Min Bae,Dong-Hyun Kim,Yongseok Lee,Yeon Soo Han +7 more
TL;DR: The open reading frame (ORF) of TmSpz6 was identified and its function in the response to bacterial and fungal infections in T. molitor was investigated, suggesting that Tm Spz6 plays an important role in regulating AMP expression and increases the survival of T. coli and S. aureus.

TmToll-7 Plays a Crucial Role in Innate Immune Responses Against Gram-Negative Bacteria by Regulating 5 AMP Genes in Tenebrio molitor.
Soyi Park,Yong Hun Jo,Ki Beom Park,Hye Jin Ko,Chang Eun Kim,Young Min Bae,Bobae Kim,Sung Ah Jun,In Seok Bang,Yongseok Lee,Yu Jung Kim,Yeon Soo Han +11 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that TmToll-7 plays an important role in regulating the immune response of T. molitor to E. coli, and its potential role in antibacterial and antifungal immunity is examined.
TmSpz4 Plays an Important Role in Regulating the Production of Antimicrobial Peptides in Response to Escherichia coli and Candida albicans Infections.
Tariku Tesfaye Edosa,Yong Hun Jo,Maryam Keshavarz,Young Min Bae,Dong-Hyun Kim,Yongseok Lee,Yeon Soo Han +6 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that TmSpz4 plays a key role in regulating immune responses of T. molitor against to E. coli and C. albicans.

TmPGRP-SA regulates Antimicrobial Response to Bacteria and Fungi in the Fat Body and Gut of Tenebrio molitor.
TL;DR: A functional analysis of T. molitor PGRP-SA shows that in the absence of microbes, TmPGRP-SA was highly expressed in the late-larval fat body, followed by hemocytes, and gut, but does not regulate AMP expression in the hemocytes.
