The occurrence of two types of collagen proα-chain in the abalone Haliotis discus muscle
Chie Yoneda,Yasushi Hirayama,Misako Nakaya,Youco Matsubara,Shinkichi Irie,Keiko Hatae,Shugo Watabe +6 more
TL;DR: Northern blot analysis demonstrated that the mRNA levels of Hdcols 1alpha and 2alpha in various tissues including muscles were similar to each other, and several tryptic peptides prepared from the pepsin-solubilized collagen and fractionated by HPLC showed N-terminal amino acid sequences identical to those deduced from the two cDNA clones.

Transient up‐regulation of a prolyl endopeptidase activity in the microsomal fraction of rat liver during postnatal development
TL;DR: The results suggest that the purified enzyme purified is a unique prolyl endopeptidase which may be involved in proliferation and differentiation of liver cells.

Abalone collagens: immunological properties and seasonal changes of their mRNA levels.
Chie Yoneda,Chie Yoneda,Md. Nazmul Ahsan,Misako Nakaya,Youco Matsubara,Tetsuya Ebihara,Shinkichi Irie,Yuko Uno,Keiko Hatae,Shugo Watabe +9 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that collagen transcription levels are closely related to collagen contents, particularly in adductor and foot muscles for the two collagens.

A cysteine-activated protease isolated from Todarodes pacificus squid degrades collagen below its denaturation temperature.
TL;DR: Collagenolytic cysteine proteases that bind to the collagen of Todarodes pacificus are described, thereby digesting it by attacking microunfolding regions generated by incubation 2–3°C below the denaturation temperature.

Cloning and nucleotide sequence of a novel 28-kDa protein from the mantle muscle of the squid Todarodes pacificus with homology to tropomyosin.
Yohko Miura-Yokota,Youco Matsubara,Tetsuya Ebihara,Yoh-ichi Koyama,Kiyoko Ogawa-Goto,Naoko Isobe,Shunji Hattori,Shinkichi Irie +7 more
TL;DR: The full cDNA sequence of this protein was determined by the degenerate polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using the information of amino acid sequences and structural prediction suggested that it possesses heptad repeats that form coiled-coil structures.
