The role of mediastinoscopic biopsy in preoperative assessment of lung cancer.
TL;DR: The 5-year survival rate was significantly higher in patients with positive mediastinoscopic findings who underwent complete resection of the primary tumor and all involved nodes than in patients who underwent incomplete resection, which supports the opinion that patients withpositive mediastinescopic results should not always be excluded from treatment by thoracotomy.

Preoperative mediastinoscopic assessment of N factors and the need for mediastinal lymph node dissection in T1 lung cancer
TL;DR: The results strongly suggest that preoperative mediastinoscopy and intraoperative node sampling are sufficient for assessment of N factors in T1 lung cancer.
