Effects of dietary plant cerebroside on gene expression in the large intestine of 1,2‐dimethylhydrazine (dmh)‐treated mice determined by dna microarray analysis
TL;DR: Dietary cerebroside in DMH-treated mice regulates the Wnt signaling and MAP-kinase pathways, and prevents the development of aberrant crypt foci in the large intestine, thus being of potential use for nutraceutical applications.

Screening for beneficial effects of oral intake of sweet corn by DNA microarray analysis.
Yoshihiko Tokuji,Kyoko Akiyama,Keita Yunoki,Mikio Kinoshita,Keiko Sasaki,Hitoshi Kobayashi,Masahiro Wada,Masao Ohnishi +7 more
TL;DR: DNA microarray analysis of the livers of sweet corn-fed mice suggested that sweet corn is a valuable food for suppressing cancer and upregulated expression levels of genes that regulate apoptosis positively.

The Effect of Oral Intake of Low-Temperature-Processed Whey Protein Concentrate on Colitis and Gene Expression Profiles in Mice
Sharmila Jayatilake,Katsuhito Arai,Katsuhito Arai,Nanami Kumada,Yoshiko Ishida,Ichiro Tanaka,Satoru Iwatsuki,Takuji Ohwada,Takuji Ohwada,Masao Ohnishi,Masao Ohnishi,Yoshihiko Tokuji,Yoshihiko Tokuji,Mikio Kinoshita,Mikio Kinoshita +14 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that low-temperature-processed whey protein concentrate (LWPC) would be an effective food resource for suppressing IBD symptoms.

Organogermanium THGP Induces Differentiation into M1 Macrophages and Suppresses the Proliferation of Melanoma Cells via Phagocytosis
Jun-Ichi Azumi,Tomoya Takeda,Yasuhiro Shimada,Hao Zhuang,Yoshihiko Tokuji,Naoya Sakamoto,Hisashi Aso,Takashi Nakamura +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors found that macrophages differentiate into the M1 phenotype via NF-κB activation under long-term culture in the presence of 3-(trihydroxygermyl) propanoic acid in vitro and in vivo.
Observation of early stage of somatic embryogenesis from epidermal cells of carrot hypocotyls by scanning electron microscopy
Hiroshi Masuda,Yoshihiko Tokuji +1 more
TL;DR: Somatic embryogenesis that occurred directly from carrot epidermal cells was monitored by scanning electron microscopy and swelling structures were formed by irregular and oblique division at sites on the linear clusters of cells and these structures continued cell division to form small proembryos.
