Antioxidant Effects of Turmeric Leaf Extract against Hydrogen Peroxide-Induced Oxidative Stress In Vitro in Vero Cells and In Vivo in Zebrafish.
Sera Kim,Mingyeong Kim,Min-Cheol Kang,Hyun Hee L Lee,Chi Heung Cho,Inwook Choi,Yongkon Park,Sang-Hoon Lee +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the antioxidant effects of a water extract of Turmeric leaves (TLE) against H2O2 treatment were assessed in vitro Vero cells and in vivo zebrafish models, and the results suggested that TLE may be an alternative material to relieve ROS generation through its antioxidant properties or a suitable material for the application in a functional food industry.

Optimization of Skate (Raja flavirostris) Cartilage Hydrolysis for the Preparation of Chondroitin Sulfate
Jin-Ho Jo,Duck-Chun Park,Jeong-Ryong Do,Young-Myoung Kim,Dong-Soo Kim,Yongkon Park,Taek-Kyun Lee,Seung-Mock Cho +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the optimal conditions for skirt cartilage for the preparation of chondroitin sulfate (CS) were determined by a re sponse surface methodology (RSM), and the highest yield of the hydrolysate was predicted to be 43.3%.

Protective effect and mechanism of phosphatidylserine in UVB‐induced human dermal fibroblasts
Sanghoon Lee,Ji-Hee Yang,Yongkon Park,Jeong-Jun Han,Guk-Hoon Chung,Dae-Hyun Hahm,Hee-Don Choi +6 more
TL;DR: PS increases type I procollagen synthesis and decreases MMP-1 activity by downregulating the MAPK/AP-1 signaling pathway in UVB-induced HDFs, suggesting that PS can be used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment and prevention of photoaging and possibly even natural aging in human skin.
