Fish-T1K (Transcriptomes of 1,000 Fishes) Project: large-scale transcriptome data for fish evolution studies
Ying Sun,Yu Huang,Xiaofeng Li,Carole C. Baldwin,Zhuocheng Zhou,Zhixiang Yan,Keith A. Crandall,Yong Zhang,Xiaomeng Zhao,Min Wang,Alex Wong,Chao Fang,Xinhui Zhang,Hai Huang,Jose V. Lopez,Kirk Kilfoyle,Guillermo Ortí,Byrappa Venkatesh,Qiong Shi +18 more
TL;DR: An international project known as the “Transcriptomes of 1,000 Fishes” (Fish-T1K) project has been established to generate RNA-seq transcriptome sequences for 1, thousand diverse species of ray-finned fishes.

TL;DR: It is unsurprisingly found that CsChrimson has the same spectral and kinetic properties as Chrimson in murine cultured neurons and will be of use with the ER2 trafficking sequence in some biological contexts.
Rapid phenotypic evolution with shallow genomic differentiation during early stages of high elevation adaptation in Eurasian Tree Sparrows.
Yanhua Qu,Chunhai Chen,Ying Xiong,Huishang She,Yong Zhang,Yalin Cheng,Shane G. DuBay,Shane G. DuBay,Dongming Li,Per G. P. Ericson,Yan Hao,Hongyuan Wang,Hongfeng Zhao,Gang Song,Hailin Zhang,Ting Yang,Chi Zhang,Liping Liang,Tianyu Wu,Jinyang Zhao,Qiang Gao,Weiwei Zhai,Weiwei Zhai,Fumin Lei +23 more
TL;DR: A case of positive selection in which polygenic adaptation appears to drive rapid phenotypic evolution is revealed, shedding light on early stages of adaptive evolution to a novel environment.
SecFedNIDS: Robust defense for poisoning attack against federated learning-based network intrusion detection system
TL;DR: Li et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a secure federated learning-based network intrusion detection system (FL-based NIDS) that is robust for the poisoning attacks, namely SecFedNIDS, which adopts layerwise relevance propagation to extract the class path of clean traffic data, and transmit the class paths to the poisoned clients to help distinguish the poisoned traffic data.

A simple method to isolate salt-tolerant myxobacteria from marine samples.
TL;DR: The fruiting body structures of the salt-tolerant strains were all formed in conditions with lower seawater content, i.e. lower than 60% seawater or distilled water supplemented with MgCl(2).
