Highly-expressed P2X7 receptor promotes growth and metastasis of human HOS/MNNG osteosarcoma cells via PI3K/Akt/GSK3β/β-catenin and mTOR/HIF1α/VEGF signaling.
TL;DR: Molecular mechanisms of P2X7‐dependent positive regulation of osteosarcoma cell proliferation, invasion, migration, epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), and angiogenesis are elucidated using in vitro and in vivo models and evidence that P2x7 may be a promising therapeutic target for treating osteosARcoma is offered.

EMF acts on rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells to promote differentiation to osteoblasts and to inhibit differentiation to adipocytes.
TL;DR: Investigation of the roles of sinusoidal EMF of 15 Hz, 1 mT in differentiation along these separate lineages using rat bone marrow MSCs showed that EMF promoted osteogenic differentiation of the stem cells and concurrently inhibited adipocyte formation, suggesting that commitment of M SCs into osteogenic or adipogenic lineages is influenced by EMF.

Extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields promote mesenchymal stem cell migration by increasing intracellular Ca 2+ and activating the FAK/Rho GTPases signaling pathways in vitro
TL;DR: In conclusion, EMF promoted MSC migration by increasing intracellular calcium and activating the FAK/Rho GTPase signaling pathways and will enable the rational design of targeted therapies to improve MSC engraftment.
Effect of 1 mT sinusoidal electromagnetic fields on proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells.
TL;DR: Results indicated that the 1 mT EMF at different frequencies had disparate effects on the viability, proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rBMSCs, and may be beneficial for developing novel therapeutic approaches in bone regenerative medicine.

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the effect of P2 × 7R activation on osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs in vitro, and established an ovariectomized (OVX) osteoporosis model to test BzATP activation on adipocytes formation, trabecular and cortical bone parameters in vivo.
