Loss of caveolin-1 promotes endothelial-mesenchymal transition during sepsis: a membrane proteomic study.
TL;DR: It is shown that incubation with septic serum induced a rapid loss of endothelial barrier integrity in a human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) monolayer, and restoration of caveolin-1 expression markedly attenuated sepsis-induced EndMT in HUVEC cells, the first report showing that endothelial cells undergo EndMT during sepsi.
Therapeutic potential of the sphingosine kinase 1 inhibitor, PF-543.
Xueliang Yi,Xue Tang,Tianlong Li,Hongli He,Xiaoxiao Wu,Chunlin Xiang,M. Cao,Zi-Xiang Wang,Yi Wang,Yiping Wang,Xiaobo Huang +10 more
- 08 May 2023
TL;DR: The role and mechanisms of PF-543 as an SPHK1 inhibitor in anticancer, antifibrotic, and anti-inflammatory processes, providing new therapeutic leads and ideas for future research and clinical trials as mentioned in this paper .

Etiologic characteristics revealed by mNGS-mediated ultra-early and early microbiological identification in airway secretions from lung transplant recipients
Xiaoqin Zhang,Xuemei Tang,Xiaoli Yi,Yu Lei,Sen Lu,Tianlong Li,Ruiming Yue,Lingai Pan,Gang Feng,Yiping Wang,Deyun Cheng +10 more
TL;DR: The predictive role of mNGS performed within two hours in etiological agents is time-limited, suggesting continuous pathogenic identification is needed after lung transplant, and the initial empirical anti-infection regimes covering the bacteria and fungi are reasonable.

Optimization of Early Antimicrobial Strategies for Lung Transplant Recipients Based on Metagenomic Next-Generation Sequencing
Xiaoqin Zhang,Yu Lei,Xiaofang Tan,Lu Guo,Xiao-Bo Huang,Fuxun Yang,Hua-Jian Yu,Xiao-shu Liu,Yiping Wang,Sen Lu,Lingai Pan +10 more
TL;DR: A new antibiotic regimen adjustment strategy in the very early stage (within 7 days) after lung transplantation mainly depending on mNGS reports combined with clinical conditions to reduce the use of antibiotics.

First report on severe septic shock associated with human Parvovirus B19 infection after cardiac surgery
Chunlin Xiang,Xiaoxiao Wu,Tianlong Li,Xu-hua Tang,Yi Wang,Xiaoqin Zhang,Xiaobo Huang,Yiping Wang +7 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors reported the first case of severe septic shock associated with a human parvovirus B19 infection after cardiac surgery, and the patient's circulation gradually became stable without vasoactive medications.
