Differential regulation of action potentials by inactivating and noninactivating BK channels in rat adrenal chromaffin cells. Biophys. J. 97:1832-1842
TL;DR: Simulation of RCC action potential behavior shows that BK current influences both fast hyperpolarization and afterhyperpolarizing of single APs and that, consistent with experimental observations, BK(i) current facilitates repetitive firing of APs, whereas BK (s) current does not.

Interaction Sites between the Slo1 Pore and the NH2 Terminus of the β2 Subunit, Probed with a Three-residue Sensor

TL;DR: It is identified that the NH2 terminus of β2-subunits interacts with the residues near the cytosolic superficial mouth of BK channels during inactivation, and it is suggested that the residue Ile-323 plays a dual role in interacting with theNH2 termini of β1-subunit and modulating the gating of Bk channels.

TL;DR: It is identified that the NH2 terminus of 2-subunits interacts with the residues near the cytosolic superficial mouth of BK channels during inactivation, and it is suggested that the residue Ile-323 plays a dual role in interacting with the NH1 termini of wild-type2-subunit and modulating the gating of Bk channels.
Characterization of voltage-and Ca2+-activated K+ channels in rat dorsal root ganglion neurons.
TL;DR: It is proposed that the BKi channels in small diameter DRG sensory neurons might play an important role in regulating nociceptive input to the central nervous system (CNS) through regulation of β‐subunits.
Differential regulation of action potentials by inactivating and noninactivating BK channels in rat adrenal chromaffin cells.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used Markovian models of BKi and BKs current and other RCC currents to simulate RCC action potential (AP) behavior.
