T-cache: Dependency-free Ternary Rule Cache for Policy-based Forwarding
Ying Wan,Haoyu Song,Yang Xu,Yilun Wang,Tian Pan,Chuwen Zhang,Bin Liu +6 more
- 06 Jul 2020
TL;DR: Evaluations based on real-world and synthesized rule tables and traces show that T-cache is efficient and robust for network traffic in various scenarios.

Adaptive Batch Update in TCAM: How Collective Optimization Beats Individual Ones
Ying Wan,Haoyu Song,Yang Xu,Chuwen Zhang,Yi Wang,Bin Liu +5 more
- 10 May 2021
TL;DR: ABUT as mentioned in this paper applies the topology grouping and maintains the group order invariance in TCAM, achieving substantial computing time reduction yet still yields the best-in-class placement cost, which is ideal for low-latency and high-throughput batch TCAM updates in modern highperformance switches.

OBMA: Minimizing Bitmap Data Structure with Fast and Uninterrupted Update Processing
Chuwen Zhang,Yong Feng,Haoyu Song,Ying Wan,Wenquan Xu,Yilun Wang,Huichen Dai,Yang Li,Bin Lin +8 more
- 04 Jun 2018
TL;DR: A new route lookup algorithm, OBMA, which improves update performance and storage efficiency while maintaining high lookup speed is proposed, which is 12.5 times faster than the state-of-the-art algorithm Poptrie.

FastUp: Fast TCAM Update for SDN Switches in Datacenter Networks
Ying Wan,Haoyu Song,Hao Che,Yang Xu,Yi Wang,Chuwen Zhang,Zhijun Wang,Tian Pan,Hao Li,Hong Jiang,Chengchen Hu,Bin Liu +11 more
- 07 Jul 2021
TL;DR: FastUp as discussed by the authors is a faster and more balanced TCAM update scheme, which not only achieves the shortest interrupt time so far but also significantly reduces the computation time by using a novel sequential stack.

PBC: Effective Prefix Caching for Fast Name Lookups
Chuwen Zhang,Yong Feng,Haoyu Song,Beichuan Zhang,Yi Wang,Ying Wan,Wenquan Xu,Bin Liu +7 more
- 22 Jun 2020
TL;DR: This paper proposes PlusBitmap Caching (PBC), which associates a bitmap to each cached prefix to denote the existence or absence of any longer prefix in the main table, and which increases cache hit ratio by 16% over a wide range of cache size.
