Liquiritin Alleviates Depression-Like Behavior in CUMS Mice by Inhibiting Oxidative Stress and NLRP3 Inflammasome in Hippocampus
TL;DR: Liquiritin attenuates depression-like behavior of CUMS mice and inhibited cytokines levels triggered by NLRP3 inflammasome, suggesting the antidepressant action is, at least partially, associated with antioxidant stress and inhibition of NLRP2 inflammaome activation.
Hibifolin, a Natural Sortase A Inhibitor, Attenuates the Pathogenicity of Staphylococcus aureus and Enhances the Antibacterial Activity of Cefotaxime
Wu Song,Li Wang,Yinghua Zhao,Gongga Lanzi,Xingye Wang,Chi Zhang,Jiyu Guan,Wei Wang,Xuerui Guo,Ying Meng,Bingmei Wang,Yicheng Zhao +11 more
TL;DR: It is identified that hibifolin attenuated the pathogenicity of S. aureus by directly targeting SrtA, which may be utilized in the future as adjuvant therapy for S.aureus infections.

Loganin reduces diabetic kidney injury by inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis.
TL;DR: The results indicated that loganin reduced fasting blood glucose, blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine concentrations, and alleviated renal pathological changes in DKD mice, and the inhibition of pyroptosis via inhibition of the NLRP3/Caspase-1/Gasdermin D (GSDMD) pathway might be an essential mechanism for logan in treatment of DKD.

Cyanidin chloride protects mice from methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus-induced pneumonia by targeting Sortase A
Xin Su,Hangqian Yu,Xingye Wang,Chi Zhang,Heming Wang,Xiangri Kong,Yishen Qu,Y. Luan,Ying Meng,Jiyu Guan,Guangqi Song,Li Wang,Wu Song,Yicheng Zhao +13 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that cyanidin chloride potentially represents a new candidate SrtA inhibitor for S. aureus and potentially be developed as a new antivirulence agent.

Solamargine Inhibits the Development of Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Decreasing LncRNA HOXA11-As Expression
Ying Meng,Mengli Jin,Dai Yuan,Yicheng Zhao,Xiangri Kong,Xuerui Guo,Xingye Wang,Juan Hou,Bingmei Wang,Wu Song,Yong Tang +10 more
TL;DR: Results suggested that SM downregulated the expression of HOXA11-AS, which in turn induces apoptosis by downregulating c-Myc in FaDU, providing evidence for the anticancer effect of SM on HSCC and uncovering the effect ofSM on non-coding RNAs as, at least partly, a mechanism of action.
