Impact of urban form on building energy consumption in different climate zones of China

The transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure constitute a pivotal task for sustainable economic development, and the factors influencing this process are also of concern to developing countries around the world. Unfortunately, there is still relatively little systematic discussion on the impact of environmental policy on the industrial structure. Against this backdrop, we have employed the multi-period differences-in-differences (DID) model to assess the impact of the implementation of the National Key Ecological Function Area (NKEFA) policy on the industrial structure in the Yellow River Basin. Our findings reveal that this environmental policy fosters the advancement of industrial structure but does not influence its rationalisation. Regarding mediating effects, we confirm the positive impacts of population density and the investment in education. Furthermore, the policy effects are more pronounced in non-ethnic provinces with better basic conditions, whereas ethnic provinces exhibit almost no effect. The policy effects are more significant in large cities than in small and medium-sized cities. These findings enrich the existing exploration of the impact of environmental policy on industrial structure and provide a strong reference for policy practice in developing countries.

In the context of China’s ambitious dual carbon goals, this study introduces an innovative reward–penalty incentive mechanism, grounded in evolutionary game theory, to develop a tripartite evolutionary game model concerning the construction of passive rural housing. This research meticulously analyzes the equilibrium and stability strategies of all involved parties and employs data simulation to examine the influence of varying parameters on the game dynamics. Our findings reveal that the government’s cost–benefit calculations significantly influence its decisions regarding passive housing initiatives. The study identifies optimal cost and benefit strategies for various developmental phases. Furthermore, the level of governmental rewards and penalties plays a crucial role in determining whether enterprises and farmers opt for passive housing solutions. The study establishes the efficacy of different incentive schemes at various stages. Importantly, the economic interests of enterprises and farmers are pivotal in their decision-making process regarding passive housing. The study advocates for a comprehensive set of measures to safeguard these interests, with a special emphasis on protecting farmers. In conclusion, this research offers substantial guidance for policy decisions aimed at transforming existing rural housing into passive housing, thereby aligning with China’s environmental and sustainability objectives.

: The use of ecosystem services creates natural and social material conditions for people's production and living activities. However, the wanton development and utilization of people also seriously damages ecosystem services. The evaluation of ecosystem service quality is an important cornerstone of cultural ecosystem environmental protection and rational use of land resources, and an important key issue to maintain the health of human natural systems and the sustainable development of regional society. This paper aims to study the ecosystem services of the Yellow River Basin based on ant colony optimization algorithm. On the basis of analyzing the evaluation method of ecosystem service function, ecosystem service evaluation model and the important mechanism of ant colony algorithm, the InVEST model is used to analyze the 2010 and In 2020, the two major ecosystem service functions of water supply and soil conservation will be evaluated, and then the changes in ecological service industry functions in different periods will be compared and analyzed. The results show that the soil erosion in the Yellow River Basin showed an increasing trend from 2010 to 2020.

Ecosystem Services in the Yellow River Basin Based on Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm

Abstract The characteristics of energy balance and heat transfer on building walls are important for building energy consumption and outdoor thermal/wind environment. The in-situ measurement of energy balance and wall flows during clear days on a 16-story building in Guangzhou, China is introduced and analyzed in this paper. The velocity along the wall was measured by 3D ultrasonic anemometers. The surface temperature was measured by infrared camera and thermal couples. The ambient temperature, relative humidity, wind velocity and solar radiation were recorded by weather stations. The Rayleigh number of wall flows reached as high as 1.44 × 10 14 . We found that the different kinds of heat flux reach their maximum value in a day cycle at different times. The transmittance of the atmosphere keeps decreasing from sunrise to sunset on Guangzhou’s typical clear days thus inducing different incoming solar radiation. The wall surface temperature and air flow were visualized by infrared videos. The diurnal change of energy balance on the south facing wall was calculated based on the solar radiation, long wave radiation and heat transfer caused by natural convection adjacent to the wall.
