Industry 5.0: Prospect and retrospect

Industry 5.0 arrived and sounded the alarms, warning entrepreneurs to adopt it as quickly as possible; the advantage is that this industry is still in its preliminary stages. However, there is little research on this model in the literature. In this context, the objective of this study was to analyze the current state of industry 5.0 in 215 publications from the Scopus database during the period 2019–2022. The applied methodology was quantitative analysis, with a bibliometric approach supported by the VOSviewer and RStudio software, in addition to the Microsoft Excel application. The results showed: (1) an exponential growth of article and conference paper publications in 2022, all indexed in journals of subject areas such as engineering and computer science; (2) four more industries influenced by i5.0, where the electronics sector leads well above manufacturing, energy and public service; (3) seven research topics associated with i5.0 that deal with the transition from industry 4.0 to 5.0; and (4) six little-explored research topics that would help i5.0 move to a new stage and which are related to environmental sustainability, social sustainability, cobots, bioeconomy, smart cities, and sentiment analysis. This study found a gap in the industry 5.0 literature; therefore, this document serves as a guide for future research.

Industry 5.0: Tracking Scientific Activity on the Most Influential Industries, Associated Topics, and Future Research Agenda

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to analyse the future of the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in services experience provided by cultural institutions (e.g. museums, exhibition halls and cultural centres) from experts’, cultural tourists’ and users’ point of view under the Industry 5.0 approach.Design/methodology/approachThe research was conducted using a qualitative approach, which was based on the analysis of the contents obtained from two roundtable discussions with experts and cultural tourists and users. A thematic analysis using NVivo was done to the data obtained.FindingsFrom a futuristic Industry 5.0 approach, AI is considered to be more than a tool – it as an integral part of the entire experience. AI aids in connecting cultural institutions with users and is beneficial since it allows the institutions to get to know the users better and provide a more integrated and immersive experience. Furthermore, AI is critical in establishing a community and nurturing it daily.Originality/valueThe most important contribution of this research is the theoretical model focused on the user experience and AI application in services experiences of museums and cultural institutions from an Industry 5.0 approach. This model includes the visitors’ and managers’ points of view through the following dimensions: the pre-experience, experience and post-experience. This model is focused on human–AI coworking (HAIC) in museums and cultural institutions.

Cultural tourist and user experience with artificial intelligence: a holistic perspective from the Industry 5.0 approach

Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) have emerged as powerful drivers of regional development and revitalization in Europe in recent years. This study explores the impact of CCIs on European regions, focusing on their economic, social, and cultural contributions. Drawing on extensive literature review and empirical research, this study examines the role of CCIs in job creation, GDP growth, innovation, social cohesion, cultural identity, urban regeneration, and the revitalization of declining areas. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to 345 key players in the Cultural and Creative Industry of Greece. The findings reveal that CCIs significantly enhance job opportunities in European regions, with 74.4% of participants acknowledging their role in reducing unemployment and underemployment. Moreover, 71.4% recognized the substantial contribution of CCIs to regional GDP, highlighting that their economic importance is comparable to traditional industries. CCIs are seen as catalysts for social cohesion and cultural identity, as 75.6% of respondents attested to their role in uniting diverse communities. These results emphasize the sensitivity of CCIs to the existing cultural and historical context of these areas. Furthermore, this study identifies outcomes of regional development and revitalization, including improved education facilities (21.7%), preservation of regional cultural heritage (14.6%), and enhanced business relations (26.7%). Regression analysis demonstrated a strong association between CCIs and regional development and revitalization. This study provides comprehensive insights into the contributions of CCIs to regional development and revitalization in Europe. Policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders can use these findings to harness the full potential of CCIs for sustainable and inclusive regional development.

Contribution of the Cultural and Creative Industries to Regional Development and Revitalization: A European Perspective

Industry 5.0 is one of the emerging stages of industrialization in which humans collaborate with cutting-edge technologies to enhance various workplace processes. The primary objective is to emphasize meeting the needs of people and provide enhanced resilience and understanding of sustainability. Industry 5.0 enables cooperation with such advanced technologies and the stakeholders in the education sector to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the teaching-learning process. The present study provides an exhaustive review of the role of Industry 5.0 in smart education. At the outset, a brief overview of the present scenario in the education sector and its associated challenges is presented. This sets the stage for establishing the need for Education 1.0 and its progressive transition to Education 4.0. Further, the motivation to integrate Industry 5.0 with Education 4.0 and the related enabling technologies that support are discussed. The paper extensively provides a description of the application of Industry 5.0 in various educational sectors namely in medical education, further learning, distance education, engineering education, and shop floor training. The study also presents seven case studies highlighting the successful implementation of Industry 5.0 in versatile sectors and regions. Finally, the challenges of Industry 5.0 in education are discussed pointing to potential future directions of research.

Industry 5.0 in Smart Education: Concepts, Applications, Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Directions

While art design is based on innovation and creativity, information technology is advancing by leaps and bounds for Industry 5.0. Big data technology has achieved breakthrough development, and the big data era that has followed has begun. Promoting the resources, technology, thinking big data is the general trend. It is an important expression of creative thinking, which is closely connected with art design and studies the relationship between design and art. As the starting point for research, the average growth rate of China's cultural and creative industries is as high as 26.08%, which is not only limited by the growth rate of traditional industries. More results show that, in 18 years, radio, television, and Internet information services, which are rapidly developing, accounted for 27.9%, 21.8%, and 20.3%, while the advertising, exhibition, tourism, and leisure industries have also steadily increased, and they accounted for 9.6% and 7.1% of the total share. These research results show that the design art and cultural and creative industries are complementary.
