Multi-omics based characterization of antibiotic response in clinical isogenic isolates of methicillin-susceptible/-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
Sung-Hyun Jo,Won Suk Song,Han Gyu Park,Jae Seung Lee,Hyo-Jin Jeon,Yeonhee Lee,Wooseong Kim,Hwang-Soo Joo,Yung Hun Yang,Jae Seok Kim,Yun-Gon Kim +10 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the difference in metabolism of this isogenic pair with oxacillin treatment could be caused only by SCCmec type IV, and understanding and investigating the antibiotic response at the molecular level can provide insight into drug resistance mechanisms and new opportunities for antibiotics development.
Phenol-Soluble Modulin-Mediated Aggregation of Community-Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus in Human Cerebrospinal Fluid.
Deok Ryeong Kim,Yeonhee Lee,Hyeon Kyeong Kim,Wooseong Kim,Yun-Gon Kim,Yung Hun Yang,Jae Seok Kim,Hwang-Soo Joo +7 more
TL;DR: The differences in CSF distribution and PSM presence within the specific CSF environment are significant factors affecting bacterial cell aggregation.

Unusual bridged angucyclinones and potent anticancer compounds from Streptomyces bulli GJA1.
Jung Wha Kim,Yun Kwon,Sunghee Bang,Ha Eun Kwon,Sunwoo Park,Yeonhee Lee,Stephen T. Deyrup,Gwonhwa Song,Dongho Lee,Hwang-Soo Joo,Sang Hee Shim +10 more
TL;DR: Two new unique angucyclinones (1 and 2) with unprecedented ether bridges connecting carbons 5 and 7 were isolated from the cultures of Streptomyces bulli GJA1, an endophyte of Gardenia jasminoides and showed very potent anti-proliferative effects against OV1 and ES2 ovarian cancer cells.
