The yeast Starmerella bacillaris (synonym Candida zemplinina) shows high genetic diversity in winemaking environments
Isabelle Masneuf-Pomarède,Elodie Juquin,Cécile Miot-Sertier,Philippe Renault,Yec’han Laizet,Franck Salin,Hervé Alexandre,Vittorio Capozzi,Luca Simone Cocolin,Benoit Colonna-Ceccaldi,Vasileios Englezos,Patrick Girard,Beatriz González,Patrick Lucas,Albert Mas,Aspasia Nisiotou,Matthias Sipiczki,Giuseppe Spano,Chrysoula C. Tassou,Marina Bely,Warren Albertin +20 more
TL;DR: Populations isolated from winemaking environments are quite diverse at the genetic level: neither clonal-like behaviour nor specific genetic signature were associated with the different vineyards/wineries, suggesting that C. zemplinina is not under selective pressure in winemmaking environments.

Dealing with paralogy in RADseq data: in silico detection and single nucleotide polymorphism validation in Robinia pseudoacacia L.
Cindy Verdu,Erwan Guichoux,Samuel Quevauvillers,Olivier De Thier,Yec’han Laizet,Adline Delcamp,Frédéric Gévaudant,Arnaud Monty,Annabel J. Porté,Philippe Lejeune,Ludivine Lassois,Stéphanie Mariette +11 more
TL;DR: Using the strategy developed here, more than 80% of the SNPs tested by means of individual genotyping were able to validate, resulting in a readily usable set of 330 SNPs, suitable for use in population genetics applications.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Candida zemplinina (syn., Starmerella bacillaris) Type Strain CBS 9494 [corrected].
Alberto Luis Rosa,Cécile Miot-Sertier,Yec’han Laizet,Franck Salin,Matthias Sipiczki,Marina Bely,Isabelle Masneuf-Pomarède,Warren Albertin +7 more
- 26 Jul 2018
TL;DR: The draft genome sequence of the S. bacillaris type strain CBS 9494, isolated from sweet botrytized wines, is presented, which will contribute to the study of this genetically heterogeneous wine yeast species.

No evidence for genetic differentiation in juvenile traits between Belgian and French populations of the invasive tree Robinia pseudoacacia
Xavier Paul Bouteiller,Frédéric Barraquand,Pauline Garnier-Géré,Noémie Harmand,Yec’han Laizet,Alexandre Raimbault,Raphaël Segura,Ludivine Lassois,Arnaud Monty,Cindy Verdu,Stéphanie Mariette,Annabel J. Porté +11 more
TL;DR: No support for genetic differentiation and local adaptation was found among studied populations within invasive range, raising two main questions: first, what is the role of selection on functional and life-history traits; and second, is the elapsed time since first introduction sufficient to allow evolution and localadaptation.
