The Role of the Acromioclavicular Ligament in Acromioclavicular Joint Stability: A Cadaveric Biomechanical Study:
Shimpei Kurata,Kazuya Inoue,Hideo Hasegawa,Takamasa Shimizu,Akio Iida,Kenji Kawamura,Shohei Omokawa,Pasuk Mahakkanukrauh,Yasuhito Tanaka +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between ligamentous injury and radiological assessment is investigated using the radiologically based Rockwood classification, which is used to evaluate the acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation.

Characterization of a novel small RNA encoded by Dictyostelium discoideum mitochondrial DNA.
TL;DR: A mitochondrial small (ms) RNA in Dictyostelium discoideum, which is 129 nucleotides long and has a GC content of only 22.5%, showed low homology with mitochondrial 5S rRNA from plants, liverwort and the chlorophycean alga, but the proposed secondary structure of ms RNA was similar to that of cytoplasmic 5 S rRNA.

A Review on the Prevalence of Arcobacter in Aquatic Environments
TL;DR: It is proposed that understanding the prevalence of Arcobacter in environmental water and fecal-source samples and its infection of humans and animals will contribute to a better strategy to control and prevent the survival and growth of the bacteria.
Sonographic measurements of low-echoic synovial area in the dorsal aspect of metatarsophalangeal joints in healthy subjects.
Masao Hiraga,Kei Ikeda,Koichiro Shigeta,Akito Sato,Tamami Yoshitama,Ryota Hara,Yasuhito Tanaka +6 more
TL;DR: The authors' data provide the normal reference values for the measurements of LESA in Japanese, which should be taken into consideration when the synovitis in MTP joints is evaluated with ultrasound, which is shown to improve the accuracy of assessment of rheumatoid arthritis.

New combination test for hepatitis C virus genotype and viral load determination using Amplicor GT HCV MONITOR test v2.0.
Motokazu Mukaide,Yasuhito Tanaka,Hirokazu Kakuda,Kei Fujiwara,Fuat Kurbanov,Orito E,Kentaro Yoshioka,Kiyotaka Fujise,Shoji Harada,Takazumi Kozaki,Kazuo Takemura,Kazumasa Hikiji,Masashi Mizokami +12 more
TL;DR: Clinically, both viral load and genotypes have been found to be major predictors of antiviral therapy outcome regarding chronic hepatitis C based on guidelines and they are, in normal circumstances, performed as separate stand-alone assays.
