High stability of enzyme immunoassay for hepatitis C virus core antigen-evaluation before and after incubation at room temperature
Yasuhito Tanaka,Kazumi Takagi,Toshiya Fujihara,Katsuhiko Kitsugi,Kei Fujiwara,Kumiko Hiramatsu,Yoshinori Ito,Yoshimitsu Takasaka,Masaji Sakai,Masashi Mizokami +9 more
TL;DR: The measurement of the HCV-Ag level was found to be suitable for HCV quantification with serum samples stored either at 4 degrees C or under unknown conditions and successfully eliminated inhibitors such as heparin from plasma and could be applied to a variety of clinical specimens.

Real-world virological efficacy and safety of elbasvir and grazoprevir in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus genotype 1 infection in Japan
Hidenori Toyoda,Masanori Atsukawa,Koichi Takaguchi,Tomonori Senoh,Kojiro Michitaka,Atsushi Hiraoka,Shinichi Fujioka,Chisa Kondo,Tomomi Okubo,Haruki Uojima,Toshifumi Tada,Hirohito Yoneyama,Tsunamasa Watanabe,Toru Asano,Toru Ishikawa,Hideyuki Tamai,Hiroshi Abe,Keizo Kato,Kunihiko Tsuji,Chikara Ogawa,Noritomo Shimada,Etsuko Iio,Akihiro Deguchi,Ei Itobayashi,Shigeru Mikami,Akio Moriya,Hironao Okubo,Joji Tani,Akihito Tsubota,Yasuhito Tanaka,Tsutomu Masaki,Katsuhiko Iwakiri,Takashi Kumada +32 more
TL;DR: The EBR/GZR regimen yielded high virological efficacy with acceptable safety and patients with a history of failure to IFN-free DAA therapy or with double RASs in HCV-NS5A remained difficult to treat with this regimen.

Genetic association of human leukocyte antigens with chronicity or resolution of hepatitis B infection in thai population.
Nawarat Posuwan,Sunchai Payungporn,Pisit Tangkijvanich,Shintaro Ogawa,Shuko Murakami,Sayuki Iijima,Kentaro Matsuura,Noboru Shinkai,Tsunamasa Watanabe,Yong Poovorawan,Yasuhito Tanaka +10 more
TL;DR: Genetic variations of rs3077 and rs9277378, but not rs3128917, rs1419881 and rs652888, were significantly associated with HBV carriers relative to resolved HBV in Thai population.
Suppression of prostaglandin synthesis by arachidonic acid or eicosapentaenoic acid in a macrophage-like cell line, RAW 264.7, treated with LPS
TL;DR: It is suggested that both AA- and EPA-treatment inhibit PGD2 synthesis by inactivating PGHS-2 without affecting induction of the protein, and that the increase or decrease in AA content following AA- or EPA- treatment correlates simply with the level of AA release but not with that ofPGD2 formation.

Molecular epidemiology and genetic history of hepatitis C virus subtype 3a infection in Thailand.
Srunthron Akkarathamrongsin,Pitchaya Hacharoen,Pisit Tangkijvanich,Apiradee Theamboonlers,Yasuhito Tanaka,Masashi Mizokami,Yong Poovorawan +6 more
TL;DR: The phylogenetic tree indicates the existence of a specific group of HCV subtype 3a strains in the Thai population, and a Bayesian skyline plot showed that this particular strain spread to Thailand during the mid-1970s and early 1980s.
