Epidemiological and Virological Characterization of Influenza B Virus Infections
Sivan Sharabi,Yaron Drori,Yaron Drori,Michal Micheli,Nehemya Friedman,Nehemya Friedman,Sara Orzitzer,Ravit Bassal,Aharona Glatman-Freedman,Aharona Glatman-Freedman,Tamar Shohat,Ella Mendelson,Ella Mendelson,Musa Hindiyeh,Musa Hindiyeh,Michal Mandelboim,Michal Mandelboim +16 more
TL;DR: It is shown that influenza Birus infections can lead to hospitalization and demonstrated that during some winter seasons, both influenza B virus lineages circulated simultaneously in Israel.
Comprehensive Analyses of SARS-CoV-2 Transmission in a Public Health Virology Laboratory.
Neta S. Zuckerman,Rakefet Pando,Rakefet Pando,Efrat Bucris,Yaron Drori,Yaron Drori,Yaniv Lustig,Oran Erster,Orna Mor,Orna Mor,Ella Mendelson,Ella Mendelson,Michal Mandelboim,Michal Mandelboim +13 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates the advantages of molecular epidemiology in elucidating transmission events and exemplifies the importance of good laboratory practice, distancing and mask wearing in preventing SARS-CoV-2 spread, specifically in healthcare facilities.

Influenza A(H1N1)pdm 2009 and influenza B virus co-infection in hospitalized and non-hospitalized patients during the 2015–2016 epidemic season in Israel
Rakefet Pando,Yaron Drori,Yaron Drori,Nehemya Friedman,Nehemya Friedman,Aharona Glatman-Freedman,Hanna Sefty,Tamar Shohat,Ella Mendelson,Ella Mendelson,Musa Hindiyeh,Musa Hindiyeh,Michal Mandelboim,Michal Mandelboim +13 more
TL;DR: Co-infection of influenza A(H1N1)pdm 2009 and influenza B viruses is an increasingly recognized phenomenon that can occur not only in immunocompromised individuals, but also in Immunocompetent patients.

Transcriptomic profiling of human corona virus (HCoV)-229E -infected human cells and genomic mutational analysis of HCoV-229E and SARS-CoV-2
Nehemya Friedman,Jasmine Jacob-Hirsch,Yaron Drori,Yaron Drori,Eran Eyal,Nitzan Kol,Omri Nayshool,Ella Mendelson,Ella Mendelson,G. Rechavi,Michal Mandelboim,Michal Mandelboim +11 more
TL;DR: Next generation sequencing analysis is used to understand global transcriptomic changes in human host cells following HCoV-229E infection and found several cellular pathways that change during infection that involve cholesterol biosynthesis, cell cycle control, DNA replication, DNA repair, innate immune response and an interesting RNA editing enzyme which could be involve in CoVs pathogenesis.
Genomic variation and epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 importation and early circulation in Israel.
Neta S. Zuckerman,Efrat Bucris,Yaron Drori,Yaron Drori,Oran Erster,Danit Sofer,Rakefet Pando,Rakefet Pando,Ella Mendelson,Ella Mendelson,Orna Mor,Orna Mor,Michal Mandelboim,Michal Mandelboim +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, SARS-CoV-2 whole genomes were sequenced from 59 imported samples with a recorded country of importation and 101 early circulating samples in February to mid-March 2020 and analyzed to infer clades and mutational patterns with additional sequences identified Israel available in public databases.
