Effects of scanning speed on in vitro biocompatibility of 316L stainless steel parts elaborated by selective laser melting
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effects of scanning speed on the in vitro biocompatibility of 316L stainless steel (SS) parts elaborated by selective laser melting (SLM).

Nano-Welding of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes on Silicon and Silica Surface by Laser Irradiation.
Yanping Yuan,Jimin Chen +1 more
TL;DR: Chemical reactions and the formation of Si3N4 and SiC by laser irradiation are proved and new chemical bonds of Si–N and Si–C achieve the welding between the MWCNTs and silicon.

Ultrafast temporal-spatial dynamics of amorphous-to-crystalline phase transition in Ge2Sb2Te5 thin film triggered by multiple femtosecond laser pulses irradiation.
TL;DR: The spatially-resolved phase-transition threshold extension effect in a horizontal direction is proposed with the increasing pulse number to summarize the mechanism of the crystallization enhancement effect and the specific-grain-appearance distributed area induced by single and double laser pulses irradiation are experimentally demonstrated corresponding to threshold extension theory.

Morphology adjustments of multi-walled carbon nanotubes by laser irradiation
Yanping Yuan,Jimin Chen +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the laser wavelengths and irradiation time were adjusted to adjust the morphology and structures of carbon nanotubes to improve the welding quality of multi-walled carbon nanoteubes.

Femtosecond laser induced concentric semi-circular periodic surface structures on silicon based on the quasi-plasmonic annular nanostructure.
TL;DR: This research provides an additional freedom for the laser induced periodic surface structure (LIPSS) modulation based on the modulation of SPPs excitation and propagation, which plays an important role in the formation of LIPSS.
