Response of alfalfa growth to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria under different phosphorus application levels
TL;DR: The results showed that when phosphorus was applied at 100 mg kg −1, the mixed inoculation of Fm × Bm was optimal, benefitting mycorrhiza growth and the production performance of alfalfa.
Optimizing water and phosphorus management to improve hay yield and water- and phosphorus-use efficiency in alfalfa under drip irrigation.
TL;DR: An irrigation rate of 6,000 m3/ha and a phosphorus application rate of 100 kg/ha per year should be considered as the best management for both high yield and water‐use efficiency and phosphorus‐ use efficiency of alfalfa.

Effects of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Addition on Agronomic Characters, Photosynthetic Performance and Anatomical Structure of Alfalfa in Northern Xinjiang, China
TL;DR: In this article , the authors conducted field fertilization experiments on alfalfa in the second and third years under drip irrigation, as well as measurement of the photosynthetic physiology, anatomical structure and agronomic traits of al-alfa at different levels of N (0, 120 kg·ha−1) and P2O5 ( 0, 50, 100 and 150 kg·a−1), and the results showed that the dry matter yield (DMY), crude protein (CP), net photoynthetic rate (Pn) and specific leaf weight (SLW) were increased by 2.10~11.12% in the N application treatment compared with the non-N application treatment.

Yield, nutrient quality and water and phosphorus recovery efficiencies of alfalfa under different drip irrigation and phosphorus levels in Northern Xinjiang, China
TL;DR: In this article , the effects of water and phosphorus (P) fertiliser on water-use efficiency (WUE) and phosphorus-recovery efficiency (PRE) of each cut of alfalfa under drip irrigation were explored.
