Enforcing convexity for improved alignment with constrained local models
Yang Wang,Simon Lucey,Jeffrey F. Cohn +2 more
- 23 Jun 2008
TL;DR: This paper proposes a new approach for optimizing the global warp update in an efficient manner by enforcing convexity at each local patch response surface and shows that the classic Lucas-Kanade approach to gradient descent image alignment can be viewed as a special case of this proposed framework.
High Resolution Acquisition, Learning and Transfer of Dynamic 3‐D Facial Expressions
Yang Wang,Xiaolei Huang,Chan-Su Lee,Song Zhang,Zhiguo Li,Dimitris Samaras,Dimitris N. Metaxas,Ahmed Elgammal,Peisen S. Huang +8 more
- 01 Sep 2004
TL;DR: New expressions can be synthesized, either as dynamic morphing between individuals, or as expression transfer from a source face to a target face, as demonstrated in a series of experiments.

Conformal Geometry and Its Applications on 3D Shape Matching, Recognition, and Stitching
TL;DR: A novel and computationally efficient shape matching framework by using least-squares conformal maps is proposed by comparing the resulting 2D parametric maps, which are stable, insensitive to resolution changes and robust to occlusion, and noise.
Estimation of multiple directional light sources for synthesis of mixed reality images
Yang Wang,Dimitris Samaras +1 more
- 09 Oct 2002
TL;DR: A new method for the detection and estimation of multiple directional illuminants, using a single image of any object with known geometry and Lambertian reflectance is presented, using the resulting highly accurate estimates to modify virtually the illumination and geometry of a real scene and produce correctly illuminated mixed reality images.

Method and System for Comprehensive Patient-Specific Modeling of the Heart
Razvan Ioan Ionasec,Ingmar Voigt,Viorel Mihalef,Sasa Grbic,Dime Vitanovski,Yang Wang,Yefeng Zheng,Bogdan Georgescu,Dorin Comaniciu,Puneet Sharma,Tommaso Mansi +10 more
- 20 Apr 2011
TL;DR: In this paper, a method and system for patient-specific modeling of the whole heart anatomy, dynamics, hemodynamics, and fluid structure interaction from 4D medical image data is disclosed.
