Species pool, local assembly processes: Disentangling the mechanisms determining bacterial α- and β-diversity during forest secondary succession.
Xiao Zhang,Handan Dai,Yongtao Huang,Kuan Liu,Xingang Li,Shuoxin Zhang,Shenglei Fu,Shuo Jiao,Chunbo Chen,Biao Dong,Zhu Yang,Yang Cui,Huan Li,Shirong Liu +13 more
TL;DR: This study represents one of the first to demonstrate that most local bacterial communities might be unsaturated, where the effect of species pool on α-diversity is robust to the consideration of multiple environmental influences, but β-diversity is constrained by environmental selection.

Changes in soil and litter properties differentially influence soil nematode communities across three successional stages in two contrasting forests
Mengmeng Wang,Binbin Yu,Zhifeng Shen,Lina Zhao,Jie Zhang,Yang Cui,Zongji Fan,Weizhong Zu,Guan-Hua Dai,Weixin Zhang,Shenglei Fu,Yuanhu Shao +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , soil nematode communities were investigated across three successional stages (early, mid, and late) in two contrasting forests at low and high latitudes in China.
