In situ X-ray tomography characterisation of 3D deformation of C/C-SiC composites loaded under tension
TL;DR: In this article, C/C-SiC composites fabricated through Liquid Silicon Infiltration were tested under monotonic tension with in situ X-ray computed tomography and the full-field displacement and strain fields were measured by Digital Volume Correlation, observing a difference in the local deformations in response to the in-axis and off-axis loading.

In situ investigation of failure in 3D braided SiCf/SiC composites under flexural loading
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors integrated the advantages of continuous data acquisition by optical imaging and 3D reconstruction of internal structure in X-CT imaging, for in situ investigation of microstructure-related failure mechanisms.

FFT phase-field model combined with cohesive composite voxels for fracture of composite materials with interfaces
TL;DR: In this article, a framework for damage modeling based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT) method is proposed to combine the variational phase-field approach with a cohesive zone model.
