In recent years, there is a noticeable increase of cashless transactions due to the development of financial technology. As a result of being expansion of fintech products such as e-wallet, consumers are shifting from cash-based to cashless. Young adult consumers in 21st century are regarded as tech-savvy as they were born in the era of smartphone technology. This study aims to examine the influencing factors for Malaysian young adults to use e-wallet as a payment method by applying extended 
technology acceptance model (TAM). Total of 330 data were collected from the users of e-wallet in the area of Klang Valley of Malaysia and analyzed by deploying partial 
least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). By applying two-step approach for instance, measurement model for indicator loadings, convergent validity, reliability 
and structural model for path analysis the findings from this study reveal that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and privacy and security have positive and significant 
relationship with behavioral intention to use e-wallet. This study helps the service providers of the digital marketplace further to have better understanding of the usefulness of using e-wallet for transaction purposes.

Factors influencing the use of e-wallet as a payment method among Malaysian young adults

Financial abuse — the control of a survivor’s access to and use of financial resources — is highly prevalent in intimate partner violence (IPV) cases. Based on the reports of 158 survivors of IPV and 16 financial advocates, we present a comprehensive investigation into how abusers exploit technologies to harm survivors financially through various technical attacks and deceptive strategies. In doing so, we identify four motivations for abusers who use these harmful attacks and how these acts exploit, monitor, restrict, and sabotage a survivor’s financial well-being and independence. As each dimension of these financial harms warrants a tailored approach, we highlight potential directions for practice and research to protect survivors from technology-enabled financial harms. Broadly, we call for the financial technology sector to consider designing for intimate threats through adversarial thinking, recommend strategies for detecting financially abusive activity and provide guidance for how customer service agents may be financially abuse aware.

Paying the Price: When Intimate Partners Use Technology for Financial Harm

In developed and emerging countries, the idea of E-wallets are rapidly being implemented to increase the size and efficiency of an online transaction. Especially, after Corona Virus Disease in 2019 (COVID-19) government officials take steps to facilitate non-contact payments after World Health Organisation has urged consumers to conduct contact-less transactions, payment transfers, under physical distancing policies. This study aims to determine the impact of selected factors on intention to use E-wallet in Jordan during the Covid-19 pandemic. The four selected factors for the study are performance expectancy, perceived usefulness, perceived security, and perceived ease of use. We used an online questionnaire to gather data from Jordanian individuals and evaluated the relationships between those variables using the correlation method. Based on the results, all four variables have a clear connection with intentions to use E-Wallets and Jordanians want to use e-wallets during a pandemic, but they have some security concerns.

The Intention to Use E-wallet During Covid-19 Pandemic in Developing Country

The booming of Android technology makes Android users and their devices with all running applications targeted by many security attackers. These attackers intent to inject malicious software in these applications to obtain the user’s data for several purposes. Nowadays, Android users are keen to install clean apps in their devices. At the same time, security solutions have been proposed to detect malware apps. This paper presents a general framework for Android applications scanning process. The aim is to guide researchers and developers to the main phases/steps required to analyze Android applications, check their trustworthiness and protect Android users from being victims to serious malware attacks. Moreover, this research highlights the metrics, tools, mechanisms and datasets that are mostly used throughout the scanning process.

Android Applications Scanning: The Guide

Today’s Internet has dramatically reshaped how people make payments and transfer money. Electronic transactions are playing a vital role now in these days to shop, pay bills and money transfer, and many more. Among the electronic payment system nowadays, E-wallet is one of the most famous payment systems. Many countries have already implemented the use of electronic wallets as part of their daily purchase transaction options for their customers. The goal of the study is to recognize the overview study of E-wallet and the features of theirs and to determine the different level of use and learn the best E-wallet and what the reason for practicing. Specifically, the research investigation focuses on Malaysian public university students. To achieve this, we conducted a survey to collect data from 120 participants from the university campus. Statistics were evaluated by using SPSS software and have been documented in this survey. The results show that, among 120 respondents, received 120 valid responses. Among the 120 valid responses, about 101 (84.2%) of them are using the E-wallet payment system. The following respondents who never use e-wallet payment 19 which achieve a rate of 15.8%. The study also reveals that the new financial service has a huge effect on the use of e-wallet among bachelor students. While analyzing gender well the usage of e-wallet, man has larger satisfaction levels and also requires e-wallet often than female students. In addition, students’ perceptions of their perceived use, practice, and reason had a significant impact on their confidence. For practical involvement, the use of E-wallets by most respondents confirms that there is a great potential for this payment spread in Malaysia.

Electronic Wallet Payment System in Malaysia

E-wallets have started to grow in popularity, reaching a tipping point in some countries. This can be attributed to the worldwide use of payment-enabled devices and ubiquity of e-wallet acceptance by larger and smaller retailers. As more customers adopt e-wallets they may also become a big target of cybercrime. E-wallets facilitates financial transactions via smartphones which is a lucrative opportunity for cybercriminals. This paper presents a security assessment of the Android e-wallet apps provided by the Canada's leading banks.
