The invention relates to an electrochemistrical preparation method of SnO2 nanorods. The method includes a constant potential method and a pulse potentiostatic method, and an electrolyte used by the method contains Sn2+, HNO3 and a surfactant. The method is characterized in that firstly, any porous hard template is not needed, so a subsequent template corrosion step is not needed; secondly, the surfactant plays a role of a structure directing agent during a whole electrochemistrical process to enable SnO2 nucleuses obtained through electrochemistrical analysis to grow in a certain specific direction into one-dimensional nanorods; and thirdly, tetragonal and cylindrical SnO2 nanorods are prepared on an electro-conductive glass substrate by regulating and controlling the concentration proportion of reactants and electrochemistrical technological parameters, the nanorods are approximately perpendicular to or parallel to the electro-conductive glass substrate in a radial direction, and the shape, structure, optical and electrical properties of the nanorods prove that the nanorods can serve as photoanode materials for dye-sensitized or quantum dot sensitized solar cells.
