Aerobic granulation strategy for bioaugmentation of a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) treating high strength pyridine wastewater.
Liu Xiaodong,Yan Chen,Xin Zhang,Xinbai Jiang,Shijing Wu,Jinyou Shen,Xiuyun Sun,Li Jiansheng,Lude Lu,Lianjun Wang +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that, in addition to the hydraulic selection pressure during settling and effluent discharge, the selection of aggregating bacterial inocula is equally important for the formation of the aerobic granule.

Enhanced pyridine biodegradation under anoxic condition: The key role of nitrate as the electron acceptor
TL;DR: Enhanced biodegradation of pyridine under anoxic condition was elucidated in this study through both batch and continuous experiments and high-throughput sequencing analysis demonstrated that Paracoccus, Thiobacillus and Paludibacter were the dominant species in the anoxic degradation system.
