Donahue,Douglas R. Worsnop,Veli-Matti Kerminen,Lin Wang,Yongchun Liu,Jun Zheng,Markku Kulmala,Markku Kulmala,Markku Kulmala,Jingkun Jiang,F. Bianchi,F. Bianchi +73 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed detailed analyses on sulfuric acid cluster composition and budget, as well as the chemical and physical properties of oxidized organic molecules (OOMs) to understand the key species and governing processes of new particle formation in polluted urban environments.

A proxy for atmospheric daytime gaseous sulfuric acid concentration in urban Beijing
Yiqun Lu,Chao Yan,Yueyun Fu,Yan Chen,Yiliang Liu,Gan Yang,Yuwei Wang,F. Bianchi,Biwu Chu,Ying Zhou,Rujing Yin,Rima Baalbaki,Olga Garmash,Chenjuan Deng,Weigang Wang,Yongchun Liu,Tuukka Petäjä,Tuukka Petäjä,Veli-Matti Kerminen,Jingkun Jiang,Markku Kulmala,Markku Kulmala,Lin Wang +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the gaseous sulfuric acid (H2SO4 ) is known as one of the key precursors for atmospheric new particle formation (NPF) processes, but its measurement remains challenging.
The promotion effect of nitrous acid on aerosol formation in wintertime in Beijing : the possible contribution of traffic-related emissions
Yongchun Liu,Yusheng Zhang,Chaofan Lian,Chao Yan,Zeming Feng,Feixue Zheng,Xiaolong Fan,Yan Chen,Weigang Wang,Biwu Chu,Biwu Chu,Yonghong Wang,Jing Cai,Wei Du,Kaspar R. TL;DR: Based on field measurements in downtown Beijing, this paper showed that the photolysis of nitrous acid (HONO) could promote the formation of organic and nitrate aerosol in wintertime Beijing as evidenced by the growth of the mass concentration of organic aerosols linearly increasing as a function of consumed HONO from early morning to noon.
Enhanced secondary organic aerosol formation from the photo-oxidation of mixed anthropogenic volatile organic compounds
Junling Li,Hong Li,Kun Li,Yan Chen,Hao Zhang,Xin Zhang,Zhenhai Wu,Yongchun Liu,Wang Xuezhong,Weigang Wang,Maofa Ge +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the secondary organic aerosol (SOA) production from individual anthropogenic volatile organic compounds (AVOCs) (n -dodecane, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene) and mixed AVOCs (n-doddecane + ǫ 1, 3, 5 trimethyl benzene) was studied with a large-scale outdoor smog chamber.
Atmospheric oxidation of C10~14 n-alkanes initiated by Cl atoms: Kinetics and mechanism
Bo Shi,Weigang Wang,Li Zhou,Zheng Sun,Cici Fan,Cici Fan,Yan Chen,Wenyu Zhang,Yanyang Qiao,Yanliu Qiao,Maofa Ge +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the kinetic parameters of the reactions of Cl atoms with C11~14 n-alkanes for the first time were investigated by using Proton-Transfer-Reaction Mass Spectrometry in the smog chamber.
