Sex differences in growth performance are related to cecal microbiota in chicken.
Lei Cui,Xiaolong Zhang,Ranran Cheng,Abdur Rahman Ansari,Abdelmotaleb A. Elokil,Yafang Hu,Yan Chen,Abdallah A. Nafady,Huazhen Liu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, male and female chickens at 7-week age were used to carry out histomorphological, molecular, gene expression analysis with their liver, chest and leg muscle, as well as 16S rRNA sequencing analysis for gut microbiota.

Caecal microbiota could effectively increase chicken growth performance by regulating fat metabolism
Xiaolong Zhang,Yafang Hu,Abdur Rahman Ansari,Abdur Rahman Ansari,Muhammad Akhtar,Yan Chen,Ranran Cheng,Lei Cui,Abdallah A. Nafady,Abdelmotaleb A. Elokil,Abdelmotaleb A. Elokil,El-Sayed M. Abdel-Kafy,Huazhen Liu +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the relative abundance of gut microbiota in the caecal contents at the genus level was compared by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, which indicated that high body weight chickens contained Microbacterium and Sphingomonas more abundantly (P < 0.05).

TL;DR: It is suggested that cecal microbiota could affect chicken growth performance by regulatingFat metabolism and transferring fecal microbiota from adult chickens with high body weight into one-day-old chickens improved growth performance and fat metabolism in liver.
